10. It is the same reason why attack ads dominate
Going negative over the long run unfortunately has a better track record of winning than going positive. At this point Clinton is in the way of everyone else's ambitions.

37. Disagree slightly
Indirect negative (having somebody else do your dirty work) has a better track record of winning.

Direct negative (doing it yourself) has a habit of deep-sixing a campaign.

Currently, Obama and Edwards are looking to go the direct negative route against Clinton, and it will likely be the final nail in their campaigns' coffins. (Especially Obama, who built his campaign on the theme of "Politics of Hope". Going negative for him will backfire, big time.)

91. There are about 50 or 60 core Hillary haters (out of 100000+ members).
who are like rabid piranhas. Freeper lurkers swim amongst them, as this is one area where they can freely spew their venom without fear of being banned. Of course this will all end if she wins the nomination as those attacking the nominee will be gagged. It will be interesting to watch, if it happens.

94. There's not that really all that much to like in them, to be honest.
We have an opportunity of a lifetime to pick a great person to lead the Democratic Party and all we have are hacks, corporate shills and flip-floppers running.

It's pretty sad, really.

I'm not saying the Republican Party has any shining examples of virtue or those dedicated to the working man running, either - far from it.

This election has been milquetoast on corporate rye. :puke:

6. She doesn't reprepesent me
Not on foreign policy, taxes, jobs, health care. The great Clinton college tax credits of the 90's did nothing for my kids. The fact that she keeps telling working people that her policies will help them when she knows the middle class she speaks of is the $100,000 range makes me dislike her even more. This country needs real change and Hillary isn't going to bring it. Call it hate if you want, working people know how desperate the situation is and that this anger is going to go somewhere if we don't get some relief.

24. There is an inherent contrarian streak in Democrats
When faced with the two-faced, many rebel. It's a causal dynamic: on one side there are many chanting triumphalists, and this fans the fire. Mean-spiritedness and brutal combativeness is all over the place at the moment.

Many of us truly dislike this person and see her as a dangerous enabler of the corrupt system that simply can't sustain itself much longer. We'd like someone who will really address concerns of the middlin-classes, and she just isn't it. With other options who have extremely good chances in a general election, it's infuriating to hear what is, in essence, "shut up and fall in line".

Meanness is spread all over the place here, and if you apportion it according to statistical standing in the polls, she's not coming off badly at all.

I have no pity for the aristocracy; they're doing just fine.

49. Don't let the nimrods get you down!
They're just in the second stage of grief - anger. At least they're a bit further along than the first-stagers in denial (nobody polls me, Hillary and a vast conspiracy control all the polling organizations and they're making the numbers up, it's all name recognition, etc.) They're just behind the Biden Bargainers though (various and sundry Kuchinistas, Edwardsians and the random Obamanian who have at least come to the realization that their guy won't break through against Hillary, and have seized upon Biden as their hope as they cast about frantically for a way out of Hillary's nomination: "I'll give up my man if you give up yours, then we'll stop Her."

But most of these people will go all the way through these stages. This is going to be a grim and somber place around February 5th. DUpression City. But they'll come around, and by November 2008, we'll all be united and energized Democrats again, working for and voting for and actually ELECTING the next President of the United States!

55. from your mouth to God's ear!
I see cracks in all of the candidates, IMHO. Repubs are going to exploit the votes of every one of these candidates, with the exception of Richardson. Rudy is in a good position to "remake" himself since he has no votes in his past. Some prochoice Repubs may say, "Well, I guess he's okay enough." I know a few who will!

And the remake just might work. It certainly worked for GWB. Nobody would have dreamed he was crazy as a loon. They just made up stuff about him to sell him and they did it. We should learn from that.

So one of our tasks is to look at which of our candidates will impress the independents and most Dems in order for us to win. Right now I am looking at my candidate, John Edwards, but also Joe Biden, who I formerly thought would not make a very good candidate. However, it is clear to me that he speaks with great authority on the crucial foreign policy issues of our time. I am taking a second look...

63. your Doobee? I have a quick romper room story--ok?
i grew up in Mass. and our Romper Room was hosted by "Ms. Jean" so on my 5th birthday i was watching romper Room and Ms. Jean held up her magic mirror and was going through the "I see timmy, i see Jane" etc and the and then out of no where she says "Happy birthday to Kim" and some other names but i about lost my damn mimd. "Moooooom, Ms. Jean said Happy birthday to meeeee!!!!" i'm sure it was a standard list of names but i swear to God i still remember that day 35 years later.

Our local one was "Miss Ann". She read my brother and my name and out friends across the street.

I felt like a celeb!

Her waffling performance last night reminds me too much of the current occupant of the WH. The secrecy with her records as well. I've narrowed my choices to Obama, Biden and Edwards because of crap like that. On Edit: Maybe the proper word wouldn't be waffling, but PARSING.

of harboring towards Bush?

No more "poor dear" sentiments when one is running for President of The United States. :(
