Why exactly are there posts supporting Hegel?
Edited on Wed Oct-24-07 03:49 PM by mr715
Why are there posts comparing Ben Nelson and Chuck Hegel?

One is Democrat, one is Republican.

One votes with the Democrats most of the time (>80%), one does not.

One is an arch-conservative, one is not.

Just because someone has one issue you agree with does not make him a good guy. Like Ron Paul

Look at his record, not one issue. Hegel would destroy all environmental legislation, eviscerate the right to choose, end the separation of church and state, and do more to shove money into the DoD than Ben Nelson ever would.

How dare people who call themselves Democrats even compare the too. It is embarassing and it shows just how out of the mainstream this messageboard is.

Lest we forget, Ben Nelson is from a red state. We aint getting a John Kerry from a red state. Oh, and whos a better Senator. Orrin Hatch or John Kerry... but but but... but... theyve both been wrong once!

1. Sheesh, Ben Nelson brags how he supports bush** all the time with
his vote. That was his biggest propaganda line when he was running for re-election. Nelson ain't no dem. And you're right, Hagel is an elitist money/power grubbing jackal.

If this whole mess is over Bob Kerrey might I suggest people go look at what a screaming fuck-up he was on the 911 Commission? And they go read what a war criminal he is. And how he backs this war.

2. Wow.
I didn't know Hegel supported the Democrats 80%!
Because I sure as Hell know that Nelson doesn't. At least not when it really counts.
Before you say anything--I'm not a supported for Hegel OR Paul.
I like REAL Democrats so that leaves Nelson out of the loop too.

10. I actually like Hegel
Sorry for the misspelling. Hegel is one of my favorite philosophers. Great to read with Ayn Rand, cause they are so opposed.

HAGEL. Is. An. Asshole.

4. Hagel's leaving politics. No Senate, no prez run. No one is "supporting" him, campaign-wise.

Compare Nelson's and Hagel's records, you'll see they're actually very similar on a lot of issues, so be careful in trying to assert that there's some big difference between them.

on edit: and yes, Hagel is a good guy, IMO. Just wrongheaded on some issues.
