Hastert Likely to Announce Resignation
Former Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.) is expected to announce Thursday that he is resigning his seat in Congress effective later this year, eventually setting up a special election to succeed him, knowledgeable GOP sources said late Wednesday.

Roll Call reports that Rep. Dennis Hastert (R-IL) is “expected to announce Thursday that he is resigning his seat in Congress effective later this year, eventually setting up a special election to succeed him.” In August, Robert Novak reported that Hastert would resign effective Nov. 6.

8. What good does it do for Hastert to resign if another repug gets elected?
They probably already have someone lined up to take his spot.

10. I used to live in that area
not Hastert's district but nearby. I wouldn't say that another Repuke is necessarily a given.

Times they are a changing.

4. What will he do without those government subsidized donuts?
It's gonna be tough going back to the private sector for all your snacking, Denny.

15. Damn! Those look good.
I might save 'em for breakfast. Scramble a few eggs, fry some spuds w/ peppers & onions...

Oh yeah. Congestive Heart Failure. Never mind.

I can still look & admire though.

Maybe in addition to Jack & Duke, Denny's worried about Larry Craig. And where the hell is Mark Foley?

Larry Flynnt is turning over rocks & there's bugs underneath. Interesting times.
