9. you may be thinking of Condi Rice's shoe shopping trip
And isn't it interesting that when Rethugs spend money on looking nice, they are admired, but if Dems. do it, they are hypocritical phonies too shallow to be considered for public office?

3. So Thompson is so void in the ideas department that

a photographer concentrated on his shoes and photographed him with a pig? It says as much about the photographer's opinion of Thompson as it does about the candidate. LOL

4. my thoughts exactly
when there's no story there, you gotta turn in something to the Editor, right? Better it be shoes and pigs taking up your word-count than the sound of that one brief painfully out-of-touch, ignorant talking point echoing through Thompson's empty skull.

10. I wonder if that was the point of the pic.
Ferragamos at the State Fair, wading in pig shit. Perhaps the photog was mocking him.

11. Pathetic. There is no substance to that man, that is why they have ...
to resort to reporting "news" about the shoes he wear.

Media is participating in horrible fraud by doing a selection of "approved" candidates so that people cannot choose more interesing candidates like Gravel or Kucinich (or Paul on republican side)

Do you think that Kucinich would have been much higher in polls if the media devoted as much attention to him as that of the "front runners"?

13. good. stupid story, but better than one about his pickup truck
bush is a spoiled son of privilege who made his political career pretending to be an unpretentious, down-home rancher. Thompson is trying to claim that position. Nip it in the bud.
