Also, I would be curious to hear who you support today, as related to who you supported in 2003.

I was not as engaged in the issues as I am now. I'm sure there are many, many people who have not studied the differences among the candidates at this stage. Many people won't get that involved in it until the primary season actually starts.

16. Although I was kind of bemused at that time and not particularly

familiar with the contestants, I liked what Dean had to say.
At the time, Clark had barely jumped in and I had no idea who he was. There was no one on the candidacy rolls whom I felt was outstanding and capable of ascending to the presidency, so my greatest drive was the awful performance and stunning criminality that was even then patently evident in little boots' braggadocio.

Even the lady from Illinois, whose name I can't put my mental finger on at this instant, in spite of some rumored illegality in her own history, I felt would be superior to the vicious trailer trash occupying the country's house at that time.

The upcoming election, though important, is not of the same "once in a lifetime" importance that was true of 2000 and 2004. We are fairly assured of a complete democratic sweep, across the board, in 2008, but it's a lot like cleaning up after a major fire--there's not a lot left to save, and, short of bulldozing it all under and starting over, the next decade will be consumed in staunching the blood and doing our damnedest to assure that the entire country doesn't become Oklahoma of the nineteen thirties.

The only other candidates who generate any enthusiasm for me are Edwards and Kucinich. In addition to competence, experience, and ideas, passion is important.

With the caveat that I always said John Edwards had the best chance to be elected as the nominee.
As who I am supporting now, well the avatar gives it away!

21. I wasn't paying attention at this time in 2003. I soon latched onto Kerry.

I briefly liked Dean but wouldn't go so far as to say I "supported" him - I was impressed with things I read but was still researching. At some point during the debates I decided I like Kerry, then I did some research on Kerry and became a fan for good.

(I still say most progressives have been so duped by the media in 2004 and since, that they still have NO IDEA what they lost - the most liberal and decent person who will have any chance of becoming President in my lifetime, almost sneaked in there. Sigh. Back to run-of-the-mill politicians.)

Edwards. He has grown progressively progressive in the last 4 years.

But Kucinich started growing on me, and from January, 2004 until today he's the man.
