David Obey-"equally upset when that kind of juvenile debate emanates from the left,"
WASHINGTON (AP) — The House on Wednesday overwhelmingly voted to condemn the liberal advocacy group MoveOn.org for a recent advertisement attacking the top U.S. general in Iraq.

By a 341-79 vote, the House passed a resolution praising the patriotism Gen. David Petraeus, the commander of U.S. forces in Iraq, and condemning a MoveOn.org ad that referred to Petraeus as "General Betray Us."

Wisconsin Rep. David Obey, a veteran Democrat, recounted how he left the Republican Party during the era of Sen. Joseph McCarthy, R-Wis., and said that lawmakers have an obligation to criticize their allies as well as their enemies when they go too far.

"I've got an obligation to be equally upset when that kind of juvenile debate emanates from the left," Obey said.

2. I'm with you on this.
Just as one example, where is the resolution to condemn the swift boat liars? How about expressing the sense of Congress about Bob Perry, one of the primary swift boat founders, who is working for the Mitt Romney campaign right now? Who has lately reminded us on the floor of the House or Senate that the president has yet to react to calls for him to condemn their slanderous lies against Kerry?

But if they really treated both sides like they reacted to the Moveon ad, we would be up to our eyeballs in resolutions. They could just take the Countdown 'worst person' transcripts every day and write them up.

3. I still see that Move On did OK.
One hears the Swift Boat people and just shakes one head so I felt if the other side did not like this ad they should have done the same. Maybe the GOP is up-tight as they knew many did belief every thing the Swift Boat ad said so the Dem. will believe every thing on this ad? I am sorry to see any Dem. in Congress on the list to sign this but I guess they are running for office and can not help them self. Once Bush came out and said some thing I was sure the GOP would get behind him. That has been what they have done since 2000. Like their oath is to him and not to the Constitutions.
