Newt considers White house run?
http://www.unionleader.com/article.aspx?articleId=ac6e9d35-f91a-496f-9401-58bc452ecf40&headline=John+DiStaso's+Granite+Status%3A+Newt's+treat+or+Newt's+trick%3F

NEWT GINGRICH will give the current field until the end of October to shape up. Apparently extending his personal deadline by a few weeks, he says he will decide at that time whether to run for President.

The Republican former House speaker told the Granite Status in a telephone interview yesterday his "personal bias is to focus on my role as a citizen teacher," but if the current ideas "vacuum" continues, he will run.

For the moment, Gingrich is focused the series of workshops being planned throughout the country for Sept. 29 by the non-partisan, non-profit organization he chairs aimed at breaking gridlock at all levels of government. Kicking off Solutions Day on Sept. 27, Gingrich -- in a speech to be broadcast on the Web from Atlanta -- will outline what he called yesterday "a very bold new generation of solutions. I really see this as the beginning of a process. Not a climax, but a launch."

I hear that although billed as a nonpartisan event, the sponsors appear to include the republican party in various towns in NH. Newt appears to be testing the waters there - wouldn't be surprised to see him jump into the race. He is is so slimy - I cannot believe he would have any traction.

1. That won't go anywhere. People will get tired of him constantly saying "frankly'
very quickly.

I hope.

Run on a traditional family values platform...The one where you serve your ex-wife divorce papers while she's undergoing chemo.
That ought to get you a few extra votes.

4. Newt plans to be the American Sarcozy and I say Dismiss
him at your peril.

For those who may not understand the Sarcosy reference.
Chiraq(France) and his party were so unpopular, conventional
Wisdome was: the Liberals would win the French election hands down.
Sarcozy was A Cabinet Minister in Chiraq Government. How could
a Conservative in that Government win??? After all the Liberal
a very bright candidate who was projected to win. S.Royale held
the lead by 20 or more points up until last few weeks of election.

How could a Conservative from the discredited party re-invent
himself, turn the election around and squash the Liberal??
NEWT VISITED Sarcozy in France. He also read Sarcozy's Book
and how he ran on REAL Change. Using his assertive aggressive
personality Sarcozy pulled it off. The question is Can Newt??

Newt has never learned that GOP was the governing party. In
other words, Newt has this knee jerk impulse to condemn Liberals
in every other sentence. Sarcozy has this terrible temper and
and is one of these smart people who does not suffer fools
easily. A Short Campaign made it possible for him to hide
these elements of his personality. George Bush divided the
country by pandering to the right. So far Newt has not been
able to make a speech without throwing Redmeat to the Right.
To be the Change Agent--Newt has the most to change.

If he does not run himself you better believe he will be helping
the GOP run their elections --using the Change Message.

Do Not underestimate Newt. We Democrats had best be prepared.
The Liberals in France got thrown off their guard and are
still trying to figure out what happened. How Sarcozy of all
people have won.

Running an emotion filled exciting race was the first step.

8. Republicans seem to be much better at being the opposition party
than actually governing. Perhaps this is because they constantly create enemies to fight against, they see things in very stark, black and white terms, and they can't possibly actually implement their rhetoric. These are not good qualities for actually running a government.

7. Like a spoiled child . . .
Gee, the Republicans sure got tired of Fred Thompson fast, didn't they? The new candidate never quite seems to be as cool as he did on the back of the cereal box once you get him home.
