Poll shows Clinton leads Democrats
AP Poll shows Clinton leads Obama by 14 percent; larger if Al Gore joins race

WASHINGTON (AP) -- An Associated Press-Ipsos poll on the 2008 election shows Senator Hillary Clinton has an across-the-board lead in the Democratic race over Illinois Senator Barack Obama.

Clinton leads by 34 percent to 20 percent, roughly the margin she has enjoyed for months.

Lagging behind is former Senator John Edwards of North Carolina at ten percent. Another 12 percent had no preference.

Clinton's lead stretches even more when Democrats supporting former Vice President Al Gore -- who hasn't said he will run -- are divided among their second choices.

Then, she is ahead of Obama by 43 percent to 23 percent.

Does this mean that the Clintons own AP also?

1. The article has a fundamental flaw.
The headline doesn't match the story.

Its says her lead would be LARGER if Al Gore joins the race.

However, it then says this:

"Clinton leads by 34 percent to 20 percent, roughly the margin she has enjoyed for months.

Lagging behind is former Senator John Edwards of North Carolina at ten percent. Another 12 percent had no preference."

That is a 14 point lead.

Then it says:

"Clinton's lead stretches even more when Democrats supporting former Vice President Al Gore -- who hasn't said he will run -- are divided among their second choices.

Then, she is ahead of Obama by 43 percent to 23 percent."

That suggests that those are numbers WITHOUT Al Gore and now her lead is 20 points.

So her lead is greater if Al Gore stays out, not what the headline/article tries to suggest.

In short, there is an agenda here.

It just means Al Gore supporters would break about 3:1 for Hillary if he were not to run.

7. The article title states the opposite.
It states the margin for Hilary is WIDER if Al Gore runs.

That is an agenda.

Barack Obama 23
John Edwards 13
Joe Biden 4
Bill Richardson 4

6. Well I had to ask.
They are accused of owning all the other polls. Not to mention General Clark had to be brainwashed.

8. I Saw Kerry on MTP This Morning
He debated John McCain. He impressed me as being far superior to McCain, and would make a better President than anyone who is currently running. And McCain is superior to Bush.
