I will just say thanks to Clark for TRYING in 2004.

I really believe you tried your best in 2004. I am resisting giving in to the rumors from back then. It wasn't easy for ANY Democrat then to jump into a race when BushInc was at its absolute strongest and anyone running was running AGAINST a strong wind, not with the wind at their backs as they are today. Not to mention that Bush had the support of many influential Democrats during that same timeframe. It was NOT easy.

You also went up against the swifts when they were getting all the airtime they wanted and you and Max Cleland did the best with what little airtime you were given to fight for Kerry.

The revisionists now say that defense never happened or was too little, but I believe you and Max did what was necessary and the rest was the fault of the many Democratic luminaries who would not join you in that task, and of course, the media's fault for pumping the volume up on the lies while downplaying the facts you and Max presented so earnestly.

I hope you end up where you want to be, Gen. Clark.

Salute.

1. Clark is an honorable man
I think he is doing what he believes to be in the best interest of the country. I agree with the quote in John Dean's book, the country will be destroyed with another 8 years of a Republican presidency. I believe he sees Hillary as the best opportunity to end that, in addition to or in spite of his friendship with the Clintons. I believe he's wrong in his endorsement, but I also think it was made honorably.

6. I will agree with that sentiment
I hope, General, you end up in the place you most want to be and can do the most good for the country you've done so much for.

I may not like the endorsement, but he is a man of honor through and through.

15. 2004 and 2006, too.
He worked tirelessly for our candidates last year.

And I hope he'll be there for our party in 2008, as well.

16. Nice post. He would have run this time, but the preconditions were not met.

Such as $200,000,000 (as I believe Wes Clark, Jr. put it). Also, party leaders didn't come to him this time begging him to run. Many of those leaders have already endorsed Clinton. He's still doing everything in his power to change America's course and help ensure Democrats win. I have no doubt he endorsed Clinton because he felt it was the best move he could make now to help achive that goal.

I don't agree with your backing of Clinton, but I still wish you the best.
