With the endorsement of Wesley Clark for Senator Clinton, it's clear that Gore, Clark, and Kerry are out of the race for the Presidency in 2008. We've got a strong field, but a piece of me held out for one of those three to enter the race and give our candidates a run for their money. The fact that we'll never see a President Clark or President Gore or President Kerry reminds me how important this election is. We have to get this right. We can't say "what could have been" anymore. Gore and Kerry were at one point our nominee, and whether you thought they ran horrible campaigns, we deserved to have them as our President today. Lord knows Bush didn't win the White House twice. And the fact that Wesley Clark never got to that point, to be the Democratic nominee, is a shame as well.
The future of our country is at stake. So whether you're pissed off that Clark endorsed Clinton, that Kerry is out of the race, and that Gore is being a tease with whether he's in or out...this election is so very important to our countries future. We can't look back in four years and say "President Clinton. President Obama. President Edwards. What could have been" and wonder why! The future of our dysfunctional healthcare system, our nightmare foreign policy, our image around the world as a nation, the supreme court.....it's all at stake.
