Meanwhile, today in Iraq, four American soldiers dead

Multi-National Division – North PAO

And the number of casualties average 2.79 per day for September thus far, or a total of 39. That's slightly less thus far than last month, but not significantly less. Sons and Daughters, Moms and Dads are still dying -- and for what noble cause?

Let's remind Congress of the many young children who will grow up without a parent, the many parents who will grieve for the child they will never see again -- and all because they are afraid to say "No" to conditioning continued funding on a mandatory withdrawal schedule. This is just folly. Withdrawing the extra troops added during the surge is just not enough

1. Four Dead in Ohio...
Tin soldiers and Nixon coming,
Were finally on our own,
this summer I hear the drumming
four dead in Ohio....

But unfortunately, they are dead in Iraq where neither surprise nor outrage attaches. Most likely, they are of an age and likeness of the four who died then. Since the young evoke within themselves a belief of invulnerability they were probably also as surprised...Yet these four deaths will never gain the poignancy of those that challenged and changed the direction of our country...and that is the real wastage...

3. If it were my child destroyed by this war I would not rest
Edited on Fri Sep-14-07 09:07 PM by LWolf
while GWB and his gang of thugs were still at large, and I would not settle for hypocritical double-speak from ANYONE in Congress who made excuses about enabling the war, the weapon of mass destruction, that took my child.

How can I do less for the sons and daughters of my country, or my planet, that we have annihilated in our march to empire?

I don't want to hear any fucking campaign propaganda excusing wrong action, and non-action, that helped these young men and women, these innocent citizens and children on the ground in Iraq, to their deaths.

I don't want to hear about how Democrats will "keep their powder dry" until after the inauguration in FUCKING 2009. I don't want to hear about how they may as well not do anything because they might not have the votes to protect and defend our Constitution, our troops, our international reputation, human lives, or our planet.

I don't want to hear that the next president of the U.S. may decide to invade Pakistan, or thinks it might be ok to nuke people, or wants to fucking tiptoe around, avoiding bringing our troops home and letting a more competent international organization clean up the quagmire we've created.

I want us out of the middle east. Now. I want us to pour all that righteous indignation about human rights and democracy into cleaning up our own corrupt ass at home.

I don't want us to kill anybody else. I want us to salvage the glimpses of light to be found here at home, put the government criminals in jail, and address the fatal disease of corruption killing our nation.
