Presidential Favorability Ratings
Edwards, Giuliani Only Candidates With Overall Ratings at 50% or Above
Friday, September 14, 2007

When the views of all voters are considered, all of the candidates earn mixed reviews. Edwards has the highest favorables among all candidates at the moment with 51%.

For most of the year, Giuliani had the highest favorable ratings. He has slipped over the past week but is still viewed favorably by 50% of voters. That matches his lowest rating of the year.

Clinton remains the best known candidate. Forty-nine percent (49%) have a favorable opinion of her and 50% say the opposite. Those figures include 23% with a Very Favorable opinion and 34% with a Very Unfavorable opinion. Clinton earns better reviews from women than from men.

Obama and McCain earn similar ratings now. Forty-seven percent (47%) have a favorable opinion of Obama while 46% say that about McCain. The unfavorable ratings for Obama total 45% while McCain is at 44%.
