both at 18%. obama just seems to be too much of an attack dog for my tastes. plus, he makes too many dumb comments.

3. I think a lot there might depend on a final word from Al Gore...
Edited on Tue Aug-28-07 07:18 PM by calipendence
If Al Gore comes out and in no uncertain terms says that he's not running, and perhaps even endorses someone like Edwards (which I think would be his best choice if he were to decide not to run), then I think there would be a big surge in the Edwards column of support. I think we're getting close to that final tipping point of time where Gore will need to jump in if he's got any plans to do so soon. If he's planning to run though, I really do think that he's been served well by being a "stealth" candidate to this point, so I'm not writing him off just yet. But he needs to file not too long from now to ensure he's on all of the primary ballots. That deadline will be his deadline.

5. I don't think a case can be made that either man is unintelligent, nor that
either is unpresidential, nor that either would kick red hindend on an electoral college map.

I think a glimpse over at the Republican field would yield the dumb folks, the corrupt folks, the creepy folks, and the macabre folks.

6. They should team up...
An Edwards/Obama ticket could give us 16 years of great leadership. I don't think Obama is ready, but give him eight years as a VP, he could be.

9. I really like John Edwards,
but why is Obama not ready and he is? He's spent less time making laws (six years) than Obama, who was a state senator for eight years and has been a senator in Washington for two and a half. He was dead wrong on Iraq, though he fully admits it, while Obama not only spoke out against it in 2002 when it was politically unpopular to do so, and during a political campaign, but called the results to a tee!

So.... Obama/Edwards ? ;)

13. From my point of view
he doesn't really understand how pernicious and savage the Republicans and their people can be. Edwards does. If he's running, he's preparing a way to defend himself against it all, and most likely has a strategy for dealing with them if and when he gets into the White House.

Not to mention, he's already had a run at being Vice President. Kerry bailed on him and left him hanging.

On the other hand, I could live with Obama/Edwards as well.

8. I wish Rasmussen would update the table
It still has yesterday's numbers.

Damn it, when I look at a free polling Web site, I want up-to-date numbers!

12. Apology
Not for what I said, but I erroneously edited my post.

My point was that the OP was criticizng Obama for attacking too much, yet others claim he wants to be too much of a uniter.

Sorry if I confused anybody.

14. I'm sure we'll see more jockeying for position as time passes, but
I'm really glad to see Edwards climb...
