No End In Sight; Insider testimony of the screw up if u missed it
Because I missed the screw up when it happened. The debacle that is the Iraqi Occupation, that is.

No End In Sight http://www.noendinsightmovie.com

Have you seen it? See it. I paid full price to go see it, a master work, really. A very well done film. It is just one more piece, one more harrowing, jaw dropping example of incompetance by the Bushies. Outlining the US military officials roles in the beginning of the occupation.

It outlines how and when incompetant officials got leadership roles in a muslim country, where almost no one spoke the language, and how US officials outraged the citizens of that country. As if being occupied by a foreign (Christian) nation was not outrage enough. Just mind-bogglingly insane, and now USA is paying the price. If it comes to your town, see it.

Someone, anyone, how did Paul Bremer get to be the man in charge over General Jay Garner??? I would be really curious to find out, as the documentary here does not say why General Garner was fired, to be replaced by someone the president chose out the clear blue sky. ???? It is most illogical to fire someone(Garner) with experience and skill and training over someone(Bremer) with none of those things from a military standpoint.

Why and how did Bremer choose to lay off the Iraqi army? How did they pull that off and what was the logic behind that? And how did they allow that order to stand? People in the film had the entire army and civil service begging for their jobs! Virtually willing to do the bidding of the US commanders. But no, they (Bremer) thought putting 500,000 people out of work was a great idea, and the looting and pillaging of Baghdad (along with virtually every other town)commenced.

It is just amazing to me that they would choose to alienate who could have been their closest and most needed ally. Who knows how things would have turned out differently, perhaps it would still be a mess, but one would hope the mess would not be so great as it is now.

If you can stomach it, go see it.
