Dazed and Confused.
So let me get this straight. If we suffer another attack, despite the Patriot Acts I and II, illegal (now legal) wiretapping, the war in Afghanistan, the War in Iraq, the war on civil liberties here in the United States, the administration's lack of interest in doing ANYTHING to implement the 9/11 Commission's recommendations, it would be GOOD for the campaign of the various Repugs running for President?

Well. Let's think about that for a minute.

ONLY IF EVERY GODDAMN ONE OF OUR DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATES IS A FUCKING MORON.

"They did all of this (see list above) with only token resistence from the Democratic Party, and yet, somehow, despite the fact that ALL OF US have lost civil liberties in the process, the terrorists were STILL able to attack us again?

"Will someone PLEASE tell me anything the Republicans have gotten right so far? I'd really like to know. They were in charge on 9/11. They KNEW there were plans to use U.S. airliners in attacks on American soil, yet they couldn't stop it. Since then, they've engaged in countless efforts to restrict OUR freedoms for the sake of security, yet NONE of that did any good whatsoever. In fact, the enemy's ranks have grown since then, mostly thanks to the terrible decisions of the Republican Commander In Chief.

"As of this moment, their credibility with the average American on security matters is precisely ZERO. Someone who actually has a CLUE needs to be in charge now. They obviously can't handle it."

How hard is THAT?

3. Ah, but that doesn't matter...
You just have to SAY it. Loudly. As if you believe it. And it WILL be true.

This is a trick the Repugs know all too well.

2. Doesn't sound hard to me.
Step One: You need to want to win.

4. Republicans are in love with terrorism because it helped them politically.

But, as you say, people are now more afraid of the Republicans than of terrorists.

Being as they are extremely slow learners, the wingers don't realize their terror mojo is dead. Every one of them is on his knees, praying for another terror attack.

6. While I believe that many are looking at an attack as something
that can "save" the neo-cons, what they don't understand is that an attack would show how absurd their policies have been,. All of the hoopla would go down the drain, and the nation would realize tht emoney was mis-spent from the get go, and all the cirtizens got was a chopped up Bill of Rights and, no protection from government, much less terrorists.

When you base all of your policies on fear, you need to replenish the fear from time to time. Communists, terrorists...but oddly, many R's fought FDR throughout WWII about enjoining the European conflict, (even after we were officially at war).....nazi's were OK?

Um, what if they are? I'm not stating that as fact (in fact I think at least one - maybe two - of them are pretty good), but what if they are?

And, do you really think the 'average American' (given the track record for at least the last decade) can actually choose a leader who has a CLUE right now?

You, my friend are an optimist.

i was a flight crew for one of the Airlines involved at the time..not one..not one...state dept warning went out to flight crew in this nation..and proceedures prior to the millineum..it was mandatory we get state dept warnings...of any threats.

furthermore..Norman Minetta Secretary of Transportation was not apprised of any of the warnings!
