BO speaking on C-Span right now
Some of you may be saying, :wtf: ? Why is DMC of all people posting this? Simple, I am a big advocate of learning about what the candidates stand for. It is always good to hear a candidate make a policy speech.

15. I'm familiar with the reference seeing as I love the Talking Heads,
but how is it applicable in this case?

And thanks for the welcome.

2. I listened and did my best not to change
to PBS, House, C-Span2, etc. He really doesn't get the picture.
Better GI benefits. What we need is free university to all whose grade point averages allow it like in Europe or special considerations for Veterans, Universal Health and special considerations for Veterans since many have only a GED, etc.
I haven't gotten over that he would consider bombing Iran, he said he would not have voted for the Iraq War, but it seems he would fall for the same propaganda to bomb Iran.
I will vote Democrat in the elections, but voting for HCR and OB will hurt my soul.

5. Can you provide a link where he clearly stated he would bomb Iran.
Others have said things like this before only to take his words out of context. I have never heard him say that. I listen to him all the time.

11. This is what he actually said. He is pushing for Diplomacy with them.
Throughout the Middle East, we must harness American power to reinvigorate American diplomacy. Tough-minded diplomacy, backed by the whole range of instruments of American power -- political, economic, and military -- could bring success even when dealing with long-standing adversaries such as Iran and Syria. Our policy of issuing threats and relying on intermediaries to curb Iran's nuclear program, sponsorship of terrorism, and regional aggression is failing. Although we must not rule out using military force, we should not hesitate to talk directly to Iran. Our diplomacy should aim to raise the cost for Iran of continuing its nuclear program by applying tougher sanctions and increasing pressure from its key trading partners. The world must work to stop Iran's uranium-enrichment program and prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. It is far too dangerous to have nuclear weapons in the hands of a radical theocracy. At the same time, we must show Iran -- and especially the Iranian people -- what could be gained from fundamental change: economic engagement, security assurances, and diplomatic relations. Diplomacy combined with pressure could also reorient Syria away from its radical agenda to a more moderate stance -- which could, in turn, help stabilize Iraq, isolate Iran, free Lebanon from Damascus' grip, and better secure Israel.

18. Or if you're right wing. It was a popular joke on Fox News' "comedy show":
http://www.attytood.com/2007/02/fncs_rightwing_humor_cocaineus.html

Then a voiceover tells viewers how they can stay on the "cutting edge" of Obama mania, by subscribing to a magazine about Barak Obama.

The magazine's called "B.O."

The "audience" laughs. "B.O." Didn't these folks get the memo on this one? Joe Biden almost got forced out of the Democratic presidential race for the implications of calling Obama "clean." So we can guess that a joke about Obama and "B.O.," even if, yes, ha ha, those are his real initials, may be going out on a precarious limb here, to say the least.

The voiceover intones some not particularly funny story headlines -- one "article" that is shown on camera while he speaks is headlined: "Barack versus Tiger Woods: Who's more diverse?"

19. Yes, that was my plan. I would use "HRC" for months to set up using "BO"
Edited on Tue Aug-21-07 10:49 PM by draft_mario_cuomo
Which was to set me up to use "JE". It was so brilliant that I pretended to be pro-Obama for months.

25. he does bring a lot of crap from Drudge et. al.
Edited on Wed Aug-22-07 12:25 AM by AtomicKitten
I'm on ignore now because I had the audacity to call him on some Drudge crap he posted about Obama's reasons for opposing the Iraq War in 2002 not being pure enough (an unauthorized "biography" on Obama claims he did it for "political" purposes).

Holy sh*t! He was trying to sell the notion that Obama's opposition of the war just wasn't good enough. That's Karl Rove 101 going after an opponent's strength. Right here at DU.

Christ on a cracker that's splitting hairs. And that officially qualifies as shit being stirred because the nudge came from Drudge.

22. Sort of reminds me of Scott Lee
I forgot all of his "nicknames", but the one I remember was "Judas IsKerryot".

Don't you love his classic line "BO Sniffers". Makes me laugh every time. :sarcasm:
