Come On - This Is KKKarl Rove - The Guy That Wanted Perpetual Repug Rule......
and he's saying he wants to spend more time with his family. No - I don't believe it for one second. Something is up - either bad for him and *Co or he's assigning himself to an '08 Repug candidate.

This spinning has already begun. MSNBC had someone on saying that Rove wants to go back to teaching and perhaps write a book.

What is going on? What IS going on? WHAT is going on?

7. At any of the fine fundamentalist colleges for the home schooled
"Christians". I don't think you need any kind of degree to teach at them.

3. He's a husk.
The downside: he's leaving on his own terms, probably to go on and grow fat on book deals and television appearances.

The upside: the only thing that sustains people like Karl Rove is victory; nobody is looking to hire up the brains behind the death of the Republican party. 2006 saw him gutted like a trout, and the post-2006 White House play book has been embarrassing.

We'll probably hear from him again in 2017. As Newt Gingrich has proved, it takes about a decade for people to forget what a giant fucking hole you were in your pomp.

4. There's more to this
Roves departure from the White House makes me very curious.

Could these subpoenas actually be shaking the trees?

5. Code for working for a candidate would be "to pursue other
opportunities" code for "go hide" is "spend more time with family." I can't figure this one, my jaw literally dropped when I turned on the TV this morning-I am dribbling coffee all over the place.

6. He wants to remain the power behind the throne
and since Bush cannot be re-elected, Rove is moving on. Fear not, he'll use all his dirty tricks to try and keep the repigs in power.

Only good thing I see about this move is that it means Bush/Cheney have decided not to declare themselves dictators.

8. No one ever resigns to spend more time with their family.
It's just a P.R. Line. There's something else going on.

9. I'm not one to shy away..
.... from theories, but could it just be as simple as this?

His protege and only accomplishment, the DictatorTot, is on the rocks. His political career is OVER, literally not even the mighty Rove can save him, so why hang around? What would you do once you had reached this impasse?

I won't be real surprised to see Rove turn up on someone else's campaign. Nobody believes the "family" bullshit, nor do I believe that if the Dems had something on him, his quitting would matter at all.

The Dems are going to do to Rove what they've done to everyone else, not a god damned thing.

10. Glad I'm not the only one who felt suspicious instead of elated
when I heard the news.

Nothing is as it seems with this administration. I predict he shows up again after the Republicans select their candidate, or if he does show up in the primaries, he hooks up with Guiliani.

(plus - "DictatorTot" - i love that!)
