8. I think a lot of people are so ignorant of a computer's inner workings

that they don't realize how easy it is to cheat.

Having the machine reflect your vote accurately on the screen while recording the opposite is easy as pie. It's nothing. First quarter programming students could do it in a snap.

And when we're not allowed to inspect the software you just have to assume that's what's going on.
