"I would hope Congress would become more prone to deliver pieces of legislation that matter as opposed to being the investigative body." George Bush

I suggest we make a deal with Bush. Bush answers our questions in an acceptable fashion and Congress will stop investigating. Even Steven. Quid pro quo. We get answers. Congress can pass legislation.

Here are some questions I would like answered. I realize that answering them would involve some research and investigation. But what are we paying our government employees for if not to solve these mysteries. Answering these questions is vital to our national security in my opinion.

1) Who sent the anthrax to Leahy, Daschle and others?

2) Who forged the Niger memo that stated that Iraq had sought to buy uranium from Niger?

3) Where did the arms and money lost in Iraq end up? Has anyone lost their job over that? Was embezzlement or theft involved? How can the government be sure? What is the evidence on this?

4) Who wrote our energy laws?

5) What is the true state of our economy?

6) What effect have NAFTA and other trade agreements had on the job market in the US in terms of quality of jobs, pay for specific types of work, etc.?

There are many, many more questions. Maybe we should make a list, sign it and present it to the White House.

1. What would Bush have to gain by agreeing to any of those things?
No one is currently holding him accountable, so there really is no reason for him to care if they investigate him or not!

2. He challenged Congress to stop investigating and start enacting laws.
We need to challenge back. We need to demand that Bush answer our questions before our Congress gets down to passing laws. It is the only way we will get Bush's respect and cooperation.

Bush works by making other people afraid. That says to me that he is most likely motivated by fear. If we want to have his respect, we have to make him afraid. We need to push and push and push him to make his fear greater than ours.

What is Bush afraid of more than anything else? The truth. The truth is something that honest people do not fear. Bush is, however not an honest man. We have only to look at the discrepancies in his military record to know that. Therefore, we need to demand the truth. Only if he feels fear will he treat us like the free citizens that we are. And we can make him very afraid without threatening anything even approaching violence.

3. You do not motivate Bush by giving him something he wants.
He has had that for many years, and he has lied and lied all the more to us. You motivate Bush by fear. That is how he motivates others. That is how he thinks.

4. OK... Seriously folks, I am playing "Devils Advocate here"...
The reality is that Bush could give a shit about anyone and anything other than himself! Do we agree on this? He made his statement several years ago, and I hope that all remember this... ie: Something along the line of; It's very hard to be President and much easier to be a Dictator..... He was taking a page out of his Grandfathers book as far as I can see... Prescott Bush was a part of trying this in the US back in 1933 and I believe that GW is taking up where Grand Pappy failed...
