Republican presidential front-runner Rudy Giuliani learned Monday he's losing support at home -- his 17-year-old daughter announced on her Facebook page that she supports Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama.

Giuliani is on his third marriage and has had strained relations with the children of his second marriage.

But after Slate, the online magazine, asked Caroline Giuliani about her support for Obama, she removed herself from the "One Million Strong for Barack" group.

On her Facebook profile, 17-year-old Caroline Giuliani, right, pictured with her father Rudy, listed herself as a member of Barack Obama's Facebook group.

''Before the presidential campaign got under way, Caroline added herself to a list on Facebook as an expression of interest in certain principles,'' said a spokeswoman for Caroline Giuliani, Joannie Danielides. ''It was not intended as an indication of support in a presidential campaign and she has removed it.'' She still lists her politics as "liberal."

''My daughter I love very much,'' Giuliani said. ''I have great respect for her, and I'm really proud of her, and I don't comment on children, because I want to give them the maximum degree of privacy."

2. I've never met this young woman but I sure like her political instincts
better than her father's.

I like the way History toys with politicians. I like it that Michael Bloomberg, a very savvy soul, is now more favored by NYC voters as the better mayor. I definitely agree. Used to live in that city a while back in the Abe Beame/Mario Cuomo/Ed Koch/Bella Abzug days.

Rudy is a blunt instrument. Technology has shrunk the world down. No sea dragons gobble rickety wooden boats if they sail too far from land. We can video conference with folks in Bolivia or Japan with a flip of a few quick switches. Giuliani is from another time -- not bad in itself until you realize he is foot-stompingly stubborn about remaining in it.

I never gave him much credit for his "heroic" bullhorn moment after 9/11 and if you take that false attribute from his campaign, all that's left is an ego-centric bully.

It sounds to me like his daughter has a lot of good sense.
