Poll question: Which state is blessed with the best U.S. Senate duo?
Edited on Mon Aug-06-07 11:26 PM by marmar
I did a poll on the worst already, with Oklahoma (Inhofe/Coburn:scared:) winning in a landslide over runner-up Texas.
And as much as I want to be a good Michiganian and vote for Levin/Stabenow, I've got to give it up to Massachusetts in the best duo category. It's tough to beat Kennedy and Kerry.

1. Boxer is twice as good as almost anyone else
so even though Feinstein is mediocre at best, the CA pair is the best IMHO.

12. Boxer is good,
But not good enough to make up for Feinstein. If he SR. Senator was actually a Dem then she might be considered as part of the best Duo.

7. Although from Illinois, I like the Leahy/Sanders combo.
Leahy's intelligent bulldozer to Sanders' kick you in the nuts rat terrier style seem to be a pretty good, although unconventional mix.
Dick Durbin, whom I respect, seems like a cautious farmer, not particularly scintillating or heroic, as honest as he judges circumstances to permit, smart enough but no world beater. just a pretty good man trying to do a difficult job.

Obama, as a senator, has been kind of the invisible man of the senate, a "me too" that is important and a democratic vote, also important. He's bright and also well meaning. I was disappointed that he chose to make a run for the brass ring, perhaps even a little pissed, given the effort and work expended to create a junior senator from Illinois who is a democrat.
However, a reasoned, rational consideration reveals that this really is the best opportunity he's going to have and we are going to have and he can't be faulted for reaching the same conclusion.

The other dual dem senator teams contain a sparkler and and anchor, removing them from contention.

Senator Levin seems to have lost his path. I had no Idea, six years ago, that I would witness his taking of some of the stands he has, recently. Or maybe I'm just learning more and not liking it.

16. Levin's great, except on the environment
Edited on Tue Aug-07-07 03:10 AM by Hippo_Tron
Understandable since he's representing Michigan. However he needs to have his power neutralized on that issue. He can speak on it all he wants. He shouldn't be able to alter incredibly important national legislation just to benefit Detroit.

15. I'm from Illinois but I have to vote for Massachusetts
You can't beat Kennedy and Kerry - both of them have done so much and are such strong voices for our values. I do like my delegation very much and would happily vote for them if Kennedy and Kerry weren't so damn awesome.

20. PA is a true disappointment,
Even though we got rid of Sanctorum, Casey isn't turning out to be much better. Then when you throw in Spector, the repub puppetboy, well you get my drift.
