Joe Klein was speculating the other day on a Clinton/Hagel ticket..
makes sense, Hillary knows that those on the far left and far right hate her, so she's going to make a run to the middle. It's an intriguing thought anyway.

2. Except that its not.
Chuck Hagel is a right wing demagogue who stumbled on a moderately sane position on Iraq. So did Sam Brownback, and if you listen to words rather than actions, 1/4 the Republican senate caucus. I don't expect to see any of them doing a Super Team Up with Hillary to Finally Unite the Country.

I'm at a total loss with the obsession over, "If we have a mixed party ticket, everything will be solved over night!" As though the synergy will create some kind of perfect medium solution to all the countries problems.

Joe Klein, who is lower than the lowliest creature in the sea, can eat glass.

6. This is particularly stupid, however
I mean, Hagel fucking voted for her husband's impeachment. Its not just a silly column, but I hideously fucking stupid one.

25. Joe Klein makes some good points, but for some reason he's obsessed with McLame
And he's not able to realize that McLame spews the same bullshit that he complains about other candidates for.

I thoroughly enjoyed Primary Colors as a work of fiction and a commentary about American politics, but not a commentary about how sleazy Bill Clinton is (since that part was exaggerated).

5. No. Hagel is not a Democrat.
Where do they get these endlessly stupid ideas? And why do people on DU even bother with them?

7. stupid beyond belief
just the sort of thing you see from the cozy inside the beltway crowd. Joe Klien still thinks running to the middle is a winning strategy. He doesn't get out much.

10. She'll need every Democratic vote she can get if she makes it to the GE
Expanding the base and getting record turnout is her only hope; independents will resist her to the end...bad idea.

11. This is an underhanded insult to the entire Democratic party...
It suggests that Democrats can't find a good candidate inside their own party, and they'll have to look to the GOP for a good VP.

It's an idiotic suggestion, and you're not so smart to believe it, let alone repeat it.

Oh yeah, Joe Klein is an asshat.

21. True. We will see a Dem/Dem ticket regardless of who wins the nomination
However, Obama-Hagel would make more sense than Clinton-Hagel. That is all I said. I was not claiming that we would see an Obama-Hagel ticket.

23. There's no way this makes any kind of sense. Hagel is NOT
a moderate. Not by any stretch of any imagination. He's very conservative. He just happens to have missed the Iraq war kool-aid hand-outs.

Besides that, he's as right-wing as they come.
