6. i couldn't believe the sir links a lot page
that is a page usually devoted to washed up reality tv stars, absolutely insane. i googled alex polier when the story first broke and there were seriously only 5 hits. what a strange machine the internet is.

14. Stomp on what?
If it's false then it will die on its own. If there is any truth to it do we not want to know what it is?

3. It's not going to hurt Kerry. It's going to help him.
This is reminding people of what Republicans did to Clinton. They paid for it in 1998 and they'll keep paying for it whenever they do it.

10. I agree with you on one condition
It will help Kerry so long as there is not one iota of truth to it. If Kerry so much as came on to the woman, there is absolutely no way he can win in November.

13. What is it with this country?
A guy gets a blowjob and there's an immediate congressional investigation. Another guy blows up a sovereign country, sends over 500 American sons and daughters to their deaths, enriches his friends in the process and... nothing. He still has hope of re-election. Now, another guy gets ACCUSED of making a pass at somebody and the country's going to go bonkers over it? This is insane!

7. There is nothing beyond Drudge - no new info - a tape held for 6 weeks
that has no excerpts is a pretend tape,

The RW Sun ran with Drudge, as did the Telegraph - but they have no new information.

This is dead.

8. that would have been my question - but now I don't have to ask it
if all the stories come from the same source/story - then the sheer volume while annoying ... makes the story more well read... but a thread bares story with absolutely no meat to it. It is a nonstory as long as it is just at this level. My guess is that if there were more - we would be seeing it - not allusions to it not rehashing the same thing over and over - but more dribs and drabs of a story. Seems to be no "there" there.

12. People who believe this rumor miss the obvious.
Kerry was suffering from prostate cancer at the time of the alleged sexual affair. One of the symptoms of such is the inability to maintan an erection.

16. Good point

There is no possibility of a "sexual" encounter under these circumstances. A "rub-down" is about the best they could accomplish.

That seals the deal for me. It's 100% bogus.

15. The Sun makes up quotes
they are an embarrassment to journalism, as is any Murdoch owned media property, but The Sun, Faux News, and News of the World are the worst of all.

17. BTW, Drudge called the AWOL story

Drudge referred to the AWOL story as baseless mean spirited gossip on 890AM Chicago.

The Kerry story has ZERO evidence. They are simply trying to take the focus AWAY from the AWOL story.

19. Interesting syntax in some of those articles...
I haven't bothered to read all of them, but the ones I have, such as the Sun article don't explicitly say that Polier is claiming that she and Kerry had an affair. Instead, she "tells all about an alleged fling".

"She wants to tell her story. She has talked at length about her relationship with Kerry. But no one is believing her." Oh really? Every Republican in America would be willing to believe her if she claimed an affair with Kerry - maybe her in her "tell all" interview she denies the rumors outright. In fact, depending on how you parse the Sun article, every statement in it might be completely factual while leading the reader to belive, erroneously, that Polier was admitting to the affair.

I guess this is probably standard practice in the tabloid industry...

As with most tabloids, the headline has little to do with the story.

23. STATEMENT FROM WOMAN ABOUT SENATOR KERRY
Statement From Woman About Sen. Kerry

By The Associated Press

A statement released Monday by Alexandra Polier, who has been the subject of rumors linking her to Sen. John Kerry (news - web sites):

"For the last several days I have seen Internet and tabloid rumors relating to me and Senator John Kerry. Because these stories were false, I assumed the media would ignore them. It seems that efforts to peddle these lies continue, so I feel compelled to address them. I have never had a relationship with Senator Kerry, and the rumors in the press are completely false. Whoever is spreading these rumors and allegations does not know me, but should know the pain they have caused me and my family. I am in Kenya with my fiance visiting his family, and we ask that the press respect our privacy and leave all of us alone."

A statement by Terry and Donna Polier, the parents of Alexandra Polier:

"We have spoken to our daughter and the allegations that have been made regarding her are completely false and unsubstantiated. We love and support her 100 percent and these unfounded rumors are hurtful to our entire family. We appreciate the way Senator Kerry has handled the situation, and intend on voting for him for president of the United States."

25. All seven links link back to him!
Hilarious!

He links to some UK rags to give some credibility to his so-called 'scoop', yet, the rags refer back to Drudge. Therefore, no real story. Four days later.

Are people really stupid enough to fall for this bullshit?
