22. Well, I'm personally blaming Reagan and Bush I's cuts in education
GA became so goddamned stupid (with only a brief moment of sanity in 92) that really it's easy to see why we're at the bottom.

Sample of what we deal with, a letter to the editor in today's Atlanta Journal-Constitution:
http://www.ajc.com/opinion/content/printedition/2007/07/18/letts.html

Stand united with U.S. chiefs

Why do a majority of Americans, and especially the media, have to be so disrespectful to our highest officers of this land, the president and vice president of the United States?

We should respect our leaders and not try to destroy them. We need to be united as one nation again, not this divided nation we have become. We are so busy whining about who called who what that we are forgetting about the enemy that is trying to take over our great nation.

People, if you do not open your eyes to the truth and see just how close the terrorists are coming into this nation to try to take over our government and destroy our economy, you must be asleep.

We as a people need to be one again and stand firm. We need to respect our flag and know just what she stands for, our precious freedom. Quit complaining and be thankful.

We need to be one again.

8. Carter sold us out on choice
by refusing funding for the poorest women. There was every indication he'd roll over on the rest of us.

I voted Anderson, too. I will not vote for any kind of antichoicer, not then, not now, not ever.

It would be like crossing the aboltionist line in the 1850s.

4. Ya...but that was ON ELECTION DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not SIX MONTHS BEFORE ANYONE EVEN CAST A BALLOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not before people even began paying attention.

I think you play very loose with the facts, for someone with so much information at their disposal.

7. Exactly what FACT did I get wrong...
In fact, given Hillary is running against 7 other people rather than the 2 Reagan was, Hillary's lead is even more impressive...

12. You are trying to compare two situations which are completely different...
A 12 point lead SIX MONTHS BEFORE AN ELECTION IS NOTHING. Why? Because, as i've shown in many, many different threads, numbers at this stage are very FLUID and WILL CHANGE once people begin to pay attention. If Obama gets six percent of Democrats to change from Hillary to himself (which is hardly impossible given Hillary's current support among African Americans, which are likely to flip once they see one of their own running), then this race is tied.

Results of an election, are results of an election...therefore the point I made above are moot.

15. Case in point...
CNN/USA Today/Gallup:

8/25-26

Lieberman 23%
Gepthardt 13%
Dean 12%

CNN/TIME

7/16-23

Lieberman 23%
Gepthardt 12%
Dean 10%

Lieberman leading at this stage in the last cycle wasn't indicative of anything. He was still trounced during the primaries.

18. Numbers in this race have been very stable...
With 12 being at the low end of Hillary's margin...

And I suggest you take a look at the polls right before the 1980 election....

In any case your objection is irrelevant to your unbelievably inane assertion that a 12 point lead in an 8 person race is small...

You should stop making it...you look foolish!!!

25. IQ's in the U.S. had been going down for 20 straight years. That's why Reagan got elected.
Edited on Wed Jul-18-07 03:14 PM by Perry Logan
Now, of course, IQ's are going up. So the Right is doomed.
