Chris Matthews STUNNED by "Shopping for Generals" comment...
Where has Chris Matthews been for the last 6 years? (He had better pick up some of the slack, if he wants to survive this... (as well as his "Bush has a sunny nobility" comment.)

On yesterday's Chris Matthews Show....(maybe in the "Tell Me Something I Don't Know" segment), one of the reporters commented on how (paraphrasing) Bush makes sure HIS Generals agree with him before he (Bush) states that he "listens to the Generals on the ground". In this way Bush can always blame his generals for wanting to stay the course.

Matthews asked if he meant to imply that Bush goes "General shopping" when it comes to making statements about the war. Matthews looked shocked, and implied that he had never heard of that before.

:smoke: Hey, Chris........let's start with a little talk about General Shinseki....and then move on from there....to the next General that was dismissed by President Bush.....

(You can't continue to make comments like that and then wonder why people question YOUR credibility.)

4. Pundits aren't clueless
They just seem to operate on the assumption that nobody remembers what they said yesterday, let alone last week or last year.

23. No "seems" about it. And even if he did get it, he'd never say as much
Can't endanger that $4.4 million home on the tony shores of Nantucket, now can we? You know, the one located just down the road from similarly tony homes owned by Jack Welch, Mike Barnicle and Timmeh.

Yeah, he'll get right on that "looking out for the interests of ordinary Americans" thing right after the next bottle or six of Mouton Rothschild.

Fucking whore.

3. Was it Randi Rhodes or Thom Hartmann that replayed his interview with a representative of the
New York Firefighters Union?

Anyway, he did not understand the significance of Giuliani stopping the recovery effort the day after the Nova Scotia gold bars were uncovered.

He's one brick shy, that one. MKJ

7. What gets me is that they
actually get paid for their stupidity ('cepting Keith of course)

What do they do to prepare for any show, they all seem to just shoot from the hip. That's why the repukes can get away with their lies when they are on shows, they don't know what the facts are to refute them.

12. They really believe that we aren't paying attention...
I started to post this earlier about how he has kept it going for this long,he and the other republicons keep on stating the same talking point no matter what and say it depends on what the generals say and then everytime the general may or may not agree with him on some point then he changes until he gets another one and then they set up another timeline that is going to work just like they did with Fallujah. Then we start over and over again and this is what he thinks he will do after Sept.

13. Well, he's been distracted. I suppose....
He got a vicious case of malaria when he went off to Vietnam for a vacation. His diabetes has been acting up. His wife left her job at the rightwing tee vee station to go work for the Mormons (Marriott, International). He was shitting bricks 4-evah about the Plame business--after all, HE was the guy who tipped off Joe Wilson--he was the guy who said "Karl Rove said your WIFE was FAIR GAME."

And then, his brother ran for LT GOV of PA...on the GOP ticket. Didn't win, but there was that on his plate. He's tossing bones to his brother--I saw him doing a standup on HARDBALL last week. That's good for a grand or so.

Also, what Tweety doesn't know about the military would fill the Library of Congress. He avoided service; went into the Peace Corps. That malaria he contracted in Vietnam might have been the "Revenge of the 58K." I really think you can oppose war with no war experience, but if you cheerlead for it, you'd better have spent a little time in the slog so you can argue credibly for it.

Tweety's just Tweety. His finest hours were when he worked for Tip. It's been all downhill from there.

16. What???? You mean to tell me you have a problem with Mr. "We're all neoCONS now"???
Yeah, I know what you mean. I find him repulsive. I had a neighbor friend who, when she was at Georgetown, interned with him. All she'd do in reaction when I asked her what it was like - was to roll her eyes and shake her head in disgust.

I prefer watching "Hardball" when he's not on. He can only be counted on to play "hardball" consistently with Democrats and liberals and progressives. An occasional republi-CON like that snot-nose ed rogers (I call him "Poindexter" 'cause he just seems like one).

18. He may have been having a diabetic issue. Alot of times when he's off the page
and combative it's because his blood sugar is AFU. Olbermann was trying to get him to eat something when they were covering the 06 races, and he wouldn't. He ended up in hospital after that business.

It's not a mild case he's got.
