Do you think we've been getting honest, hard hitting investigational hearings ...... or .....
...... window dressing?

I know some of you might take this as heresy. It is meant, however, to ask an honest question.

We were all excited after the last elections. WE had the committee chairs and WE controlled the agendas and WE had the majorities in both houses.

Now where are we?

Have you been satisfied with the depth and breadth of the hearings and investigations carried out by the various and sundry congressional committees?

I'm not.

I think they have been needlessly foreshortened. Rather than following a line of questioning, we get all that gentlemanly shit about yielding time and watching clocks.

I don't give a fuck about the clock. Follow the fucking evidence. Ask ALL the questions the witnesses need to be asked.

And it isn't simply my dissatisfaction with the procedural crap. There's the substance. Follow up. Subpoena every swinging dick that you need to supoena. Lift up the fucking rocks and let the sun shine. Don't just lift a corner and then move to the next rock.

We've had lots of cheer-worthy teevee moments ...... but what else do we have?

So far .... not a fucking thing.

Are you satisfied with the outcome of the ongoing investigations?

7. No, I have not be satisfied with the investigations at all.
They all act like they are afraid they might hurt someone's feelings. Why don't they question people that cannot claim any kind of priviledge. My husband and I talk about numerous people all of the time and now I can't think. Ashcroft, Fleisher, Perle. Kristol, Wolfie, What about Sibel Edmonds and the other whistleblowers? What about old crazy horse in Florida (Katheryn ???) She should have some good information. I wish they would call some people that worked in or around the WTC on 911, for example Bush's uncle.

2. I think there's both -- CSPAN Theater and ongoing investigations.
But the investigations are always subject to the interests of the people conducting them.

3. Yes and No...
Yes because they are having them....and with each hearing more nasty details are coming out and damaging the administration and the Republican shit in Congress....This is why Meirs was prevented from testifying today....

No Because if Congress sends a request to the DOJ to get a Special prosecutor....Gonzalez will do nothing...

I can't blame the Conyers of the world they are working their asses off...but shit if a new crime keeps popping up every day how the hell do they keep up with the past shit, the new shit and then the business of the American people?

4. And what ever happened to that second part of the investigation
that was suppose to focus on whether or not the Iraq intelligence was misused by the administration. The republicans swept it under the rug until after the 2004 presidential election, then the repubs casually forgot about it and democrats never discussed it again. I guess Nancy took that off the table also.

6. Yes and No (sorry), because Dem's are not strong arming the minority
... Today, Chris Cannon whining should have been met by taking off the gloves more. There was one member (new congressional member) who made a bold and acurate statement in reference to imperialism, which caused so Cannon to insist his comments be taken off the record. Fortunately, they were not, but they endured a lot of wasted time in the process.

I think we should rip the gloves off, and asert ourselves of the minorities collective ass, continue the investigations, and as you say, cover every question we need to ask. Then, don't take any shit from the minority.

8. "...all that gentlemanly shit about yielding time and watching clocks."
I agree with you on that 110 percent! The time clock nonsense really frosts my ass...can't we give the subject the time and attention it deserves instead of watching the clock and hurrying through questions and answers.

To answer your question, I'm not satisfied with the outcome of the investigations because I don't think there has been an outcome. They had the hearing on the Plame case and then nothing more after that. I keep hoping to read about an outcome of that hearing, even if it was just busting Victoria Toesings chops about her lies but there's no outcome that I've seen.

Now with Bush and his thugs ignoring subpoenas from other hearings I guess it will all get tied up in courts until the clock runs out. Very depressing and discouraging.

9. Investigations need to occur but
the bottom line/reality is Libby is "commuted", Gonzales (lying skunk) is still Attorney General, Rice, Miers and God-knows who else don't honor Congressional subpoenas (apparently with zero consequences), the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are going full blast (at $12 BILLION a month!) and Cheney and Bush are still in office, still in power, unimpeached and sneering at us.

any import yet? Any of the criminals hauled ass in to justify their actions? And paid when they got caught lying? Or hell, paid for refusing to cooperate? Or even show up?

Going through the motions, with no guts to back any of it up.
