Bush, Democrats Seek `Very Big Fight' With Each Other on Budget
Bush, Democrats Seek `Very Big Fight' With Each Other on Budget

By Brendan Murray and Brian Faler
July 9 (Bloomberg) -- President George W. Bush and congressional Democrats are headed for their first showdown over the federal budget. For both sides, more than money is at stake...

Bush and the Republicans, stung by criticism that they presided over a surge in government spending, are looking to rehabilitate themselves among core supporters by holding the line on the budget. Democrats, meanwhile, are trying to show they can deliver on promises to shore up education, health care and a host of other initiatives...

My view: This is pathetic. We are going to hand this issue back to the GOP. They f***ed the budget up royally. But if we follow this course, we are going to get 100% of the blame. We should have been leading the charge to trim the budget from the day Bush took office. And there is no way in hell we should be supporting any increase - not even a tiny one.

1. you have to cut the $ for guns
so you can increase it for butter.

decrease the pentagon budget by 1/3 - you could pay for anything at that point.

4. Make every day a misery for George.
Silence is consent. Never suffer in silence. And never suffer alone. (My family motto.)

If George is determined to make our lives hell, make his a scanning preview of every ring of hell he'll spend eternity in.

Make him afraid to breathe for fear of the poisonous hatred in the air.

6. We're assuming our congressional leaders have guts....
But from the sorry ass events we have seen, the WH knows they're a bunch of wimps, who just want to get re-elected. We really need some leadership in those congressional positions!

7. On a very very sad note
I am sick of calling and emailing them. I honestly don't think they care one bit what we think. But, as asshole McConnell said, "public opinion is not irrelevant." They better wake up, or we'll be in the minority again as soon as this anti-GOP mood passes.
