Giuliani Slams Bill Clinton on Terrorism
Giuliani Faults Former President Clinton
for 1990s Response to Terrorism

By BOB LEWIS Associated Press Writer
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. Jun 26, 2007 (AP)

Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani on Tuesday accused
former President Clinton of not responding forcefully enough to the
1993 World Trade Center bombing or later terrorist attacks.

The former New York mayor criticized Democrats, accusing them
of weakness and naivete in dealing with terrorism. Giuliani made
the comments to about 650 business, corporate and political
leaders at Regent University, the conservative Christian college
founded by religious broadcaster Pat Robertson.

"Islamic terrorists killed more than 500 Americans before Sept. 11.
Many people think the first attack on America was on Sept. 11, 2001.
It was not. It was in 1993," said the former New York mayor.

Giuliani argued that Clinton treated the World Trade Center bombing
as a criminal act instead of a terrorist attack, calling it "a big mistake"
that emboldened other strikes on the Khobar Towers housing complex
in Saudi Arabia, in Kenya and Tanzania and later on the USS Cole
while docked in Yemen in 2000.

The article goes on to point out that Giuliani sang a very different
tune last September.

10. Under whose administration did the 9-11 attacks happen? The Bush administration.
The 9-11 attacks happened under a Republican administration.

5. And the 1993 WTC bombers were caught, tried in open court and convicted.
Not to mention that VP AL Gore was commissioned to head a task force on combatting terrorism, which the Bush administration thoroughly ignored.

6. The Republicans were too busy fighting the War on Clinton to care about terrorism on the 90's

11. Exactly - and Clinton should have made that point often after 9-11 in defense of
himself and other Democrats instead of letting this lie about being weak on terror become an accepted talking point.

The lie only helped Bush distort the entire terror issue to his benefit, so why did Clinton not answer it?

7.  I don't remember any cries from Rethugs requesting Clinton to
go after the terrorists more than he was doing. In fact, Clinton was trying to deal with the terrorists...but the Rethugs were busy trying to get Clinton impeached. They only have themselves to BLAME! How quickly they forget!

9. the double standard..foundation for every Republican
Bush and the Republican Congress did all the right things on 9/11, he did all the right things with the patriot act! but Clinton and his liberal friends in Congress were only asking for the bombing in 1993. Janet Reno was nothing but a power freak who needed to be stopped, and gun control was only a left wing power grab.

Jesus..neocons have no standards. They'll never sacrifice or pay more for the greater good and security of their country, but they'll take all the credit where there is none!

13. The Republicans didn't forget about security...They needed an excuse..
to get into Iraq and subvert the Constitution as they've been doing right along.

Have you heard ONE Republican complain about Bush and Cheney's stripping away our Rights, OR the recent morphing of the Executive Branch of government into a Unitary Executive role? Believe me when I say, there are nefarious plans afoot. It will be a miracle if we experience another Election Cycle. This Shadow Scum that has infiltrated our government doesn't plan on relinquishing power. You can take THAT to the bank!
