Bloomberg Question?
Why does he get to finance his own campaing? Is this another reason we need public financing of campaigns?

1. Why can't he? I see nothing wrong with it. In fact, it might LIMIT undue influence
from corporations, special-interest groups, etc. And NO ONE is obligated to vote for him--it might all be a giant wad of cash flushed down the toilet. It's fair.

2. Our senator Herb Kohl has done this in all his campaigns
He says that because of that, he's "nobody's senator but yours." That's the upside. On the other hand, the opposition (either within the party or in the other party or parties) has a tough row to hoe. Best of all would be public financing. However, those who are good at fund raising (that is, the ones now in office) won't want to vote for that. So it's hard to say when we may get it.
