Seven Congress Members for Impeachment
By David Swanson

Congresswoman Barbara Lee, Co-Chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, has joined Lynn Woolsey, the other Co-Chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, and Congress Members Yvette Clarke, Jan Schakowsky, William Lacy Clay, Albert Wynn, and Dennis Kucinich in cosponsoring Articles of Impeachment against Vice President Dick Cheney (H. Res. 333). For details, see: http://impeachcheney.org

Thank Barbara Lee here: http://tinyurl.com/yqt9hw

Thank Lynn Woolsey here: http://tinyurl.com/28nxpo

Ask Lee and Woolsey to please encourage other Progressive Caucus Members to sign on.

Ask other Progressive Caucus Members to please sign on.

The list of state Democratic Parties that have passed resolutions urging impeachment of Bush and Cheney has just grown to 15. Meanwhile, 11 state legislatures have introduced such resolutions, which have now been passed by at least 77 cities and towns and a growing list of labor unions and other organizations. These resolutions are all listed at http://impeachpac.org/resolutions-list

3. Don't count on my Rep. Adam Smith (WA)
He "disapproves" of the current administration.
From his reply to my letter about supporting HR333 & Kucinich:

"I agree with you on the need to confront Vice President Cheney on the points where he has been dishonest with the American people. As for impeachment itself, that is a very serious step to take and one I cannot support at this time. I strongly believe that it should be reserved for the gravest of occasions, because respecting our process of democratic governance is such an important foundation in our country. I am concerned that pursuing impeachment would bitterly divide our country - which is part of the reason why the Constitutional standard for impeachment is so high.

Please know I strongly disapprove of this Administration's policies and will continue to vigorously fight Administration initiatives that I believe are not in the best interests of the nation. On issue after issue, the Administration's policies have failed, and it is our responsibility to push for a change of course. As a member of both of the House Armed Services and Foreign Affairs Committees, I am working with my colleagues to identify policy options to do this. I am pleased to see much greater oversight taking place in Congress this year and look forward to continuing to challenge the Administration's actions and to propose more suitable alternatives.
We must continue to exercise our oversight responsibilities and investigate the Administration whenever we believe improper or ineffective actions are being taken."

Unbelievable attitude.

I "disapprove" of my cat jumping onto the table, but criminals in our government draw a stronger response from me than mere disapproval. Crimes have been committed and the perps are walking around free not only of the consequences, but of any intention by some of our representatives to even confront them.

:grr:

4. I wonder how many SOBs now taking a similar stand voted to impeach WJC
because the high crimes committed with that woman were of sufficient gravity to remove him from office although such action would surely bitterly divide the country? Ah, reichous hypocrisy, how sweet the sound of thy name.

2. might we create a prominently displayed "Wall of Integrity" to keep a running tab . . .
on Members of Congress who back impeachment? . . . I have a hunch the number will continue to grow at an ever increasing pace . . .
