Barney Frank working with European Socialists on hedge funds

That's the article title on the website of the European Socialist Party (PES) that describes the iniziative on hedge funds. Another chance for american and european progressives to meet and work together.

"A trans-Atlantic alliance to campaign for better regulation of hedge and private equity funds will be launched today in Brussels", says the article.

In the meeting, among others, Poul Nyrup Rasmussen, Congressman Barney Frank – Chair of Financial Services Committee, Elio di Rupo and Piero Fassino, leader of the Democrats of the Left, soon to become Democratic Party in Italy (see Madfloridian journal: pics of Howard Dean and Fassino).

More control over hedge funds and more rules are requested in a letter sent to Bush and Angela Merkel for the G8 to engage on this topic in the next future.

These kinds of money investments grow more and more, condition the markets all over the world, last as long as a lightning and many times damage little investors who try to invest on middle-long term.

I really enjoy when I see american and european progressives planning things together. It gives me a vision for the future and a hope.
