I did not watch the debates tonight.
Neither did hubby. Are we the only ones who just did not bother? We watched the Sopranos...next to the last episode. I listened to State of Belief on AAR before that at 7:00.

I read some of Gore's book.

But I did not watch the debates. I read a couple of the live threads, and that was it.

2. It was decent. You didn't miss anything profound.

Basically Hillary held her ground while under attack from Edwards, Kucinich and Gravel(?). Obama looked a little nervous and edwards was always trying to team up with him. Kucinich kicked was amazing, and I normally don't like him. Biden didn't do anything interesting that wasn't a response to Kucinich. A white haired guy came out strongest on civil liberties but otherwise was unremarkable.

3. I didn't watch either...
I've spent the last eight hours watching "The Stand" on SciFi Channel. It just seemed like the right thing to do. :)

5. I don't watch any "Wolf Blitzer" crap, as nobody with an IQ over 50 should
I heard he got his media whore ass kicked, like that'd be hard to do.

6. Oh, I forgot to watch the Sopranos! Durn.
I watched a rather overwrought reworking of Phaedra Chinese style with subtitles, whose name I can't remember, something with blossom anyway. It was rather spectacular in costumes, set and martial arts. I couldn't be bothered with the debates. It will be talked about and analyzed over and over again, spun and respuned (are those words?. I'm done. I'm weary.

7. Good Choice.
The title of the debate should have been "waiting for Mr. Gore."

8. That suprises me
You missed a great performance from many of our candidates. IMHO one of the best debates I have seen.

11. it was an amazingly good debate
I was pleasantly surprised. The format allowed real discussion and the candidates covered all kinds of important issues. Our field is attractive, polished, smart, and informed on the issues. Proud to be a Democrat today.

This was one debate that was definitely a must see.

9. Hi Mad, I didn't either.
Mostly because I stopped paying for cable years ago and don't have CNN; but also because I'm not particularly on fire for anyone running this year. At this point, Kucinich will get my vote in the primaries -- and that's a first for me. I haven't really taken Kucinich seriously before, but I'm impressed with his consistent courage in telling it like it is.

10. It was a lot better than the last debate
There was actually some substance from the candidates this time and there were specific differences on policy. If you're still on the fence about who to support, as I am, I would definitely catch a repeat.

12. I did some reading instead
I actually forgot about it, but I probably would have just read anyway. Not in the mood for that stuff right now. Didn't even look at any threads or anything.

14. I thought it was a good debate
The format was better than anything we saw in 2004, much more flexible and relaxed, allowing for far more interaction. I didn't think Wolf did as badly as he could have, either, but I think I'm in a minority on that one. But as Biden pointed out afterward, focused debates on a single subject each time would be even better.

I watched the Sopranos last night, followed by "V for Vendetta" instead. Turns out I made the right decision.

16. really?
you didn't find that debate encouraging in the least? You weren't impressed by the depth of knowledge in our field? The fact that for a change our candidates weren't cowed into accepting republican talking points as given from the moderator didn't make you feel good about that debate?

What in the world are you looking for?

23. I didn't see any point in watching it either.
Edited on Mon Jun-04-07 01:21 PM by Nedsdag
I watched the MTV Movie Awards, then "The Sopranos."

My main problem with these "debates" is it will not change my view nor is it a true debate.

Plus, the media will spin it towards Hillary's way anyway. They would've said she won if she stood at the podium and stared at the sky for an hour.
