Biden just replaced Richardson
Edited on Sun Jun-03-07 08:42 PM by Bullet1987
Richardson hasn't done much lately...and I think Biden looked the best of the #2 tier. Biden also sounded very strong on Darfur...

2. of the second tier
I think Biden and Dodd both did very well tonight. I agree though that Richardson likely slipped some today.

4. Joe "bankruptcy bill" Biden?
I would be hard pressed to vote for the senator from Mastercard.

5. Just so you are aware - the bankruptcy bill helped unwed mothers
It made it so fathers who pay alimony cannot claim bankruptcy to get out of paying alimony. It wasn't just about credit cards.

9. It did, however, make it difficult for folks who have high medical bills
due to no or poor insurance coverage and the inability to work due to illness. It is really a double whammy.

11. That's a pretty good idea.

So why not just make an Alimony/Child Support bill and get off the backs of people crushed by illness and big pharma>

I ain't buyin' it.

7. IIRC, Dodd voted against that one.
I liked Dodd tonight, but I don't know as much as I should about his record.

13. you mean the senator from delaware, the
credit card state. what would you expect him to do? that would be like a florida senator voting against funding for hurricane damage. he represents his state, not the whole country. other than that vote, i'm not sure he hasn't kept the rest of the country in mind when he votes.

6. Biden would make a better President than Cheney/bush.
He also supports democracy more than Kim Jong il

More open minded than Osama Bin Laden.

More honest than Richard Nixon.

10. Agree with his opinions or not
Biden stands by the power of his conviction

I am disappointed by Richardson. His resume is so good but somehow he cannot project an image of someone who is sure of himself and of his ideas.

12. Is that it, or is he someone who is so open and honest that he
can break his opinions down into a sound bite?

17. I actually respect his reasoning for his vote
I would have prefered a different one but I respect the reason he gave of wanting to get the new humvee's to the troops as soon as possible. I also agree with him that they didnt have the votes to put in a time table. So it becomes a political football at that point. They could have stood their ground and forced a confrontation by suplying no bill. Thought that would have felt good on this end I am not sure it would have had the desired results in the long run.

For his idiotic votes. He talks a good game but is never ever there when it matters.

19. Biden certainly showed up to play
I normally loathe the man, but he was passionate and direct in his delivery, and I was pleasantly surprised to hear his clear-headed response to the hypothetical of Iran developing a nuclear weapon ("They're not a year away from developing a nuclear bomb!... We need to understand how weak Iran actually is.")

20. That comment was spot on.
1. The Iranians are non-compliant.
2. They still need 5-10 years at least.

I like Biden, but he doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell. Who knows.
