In U.S. 28 Million Workers Have No Paid Vacation

By Doug Cunningham

The “no-vacation nation” – that’s the reputation the U.S. has in a world where nearly all rich industrialized countries guarantee workers paid vacation time. According to the Center for Economic and Policy Research, 28 million U.S. workers – or one in four – don’t get any paid vacation time. European workers get a legally mandated minimum of at least 20 paid vacation days a year. On top of the guaranteed vacation time, most rich countries provide between 5 and 13 paid official holidays by law for their workers. The U.S. is the only advanced economy that does not guarantee any paid vacations for workers.

2. My European Friends are appalled at the Bullshit that the American....
...People put up with.
The idea (to them) that someone works and does not get a Vacation is disgusting.

Some of the Europeans call American Workers, the derogatory term of "Ants"

We are understaffed. The only way I get to use any of it is if I am sick with a doctors note. They use it for sick leave.

7. We get decent vacation...
...but we have a British ex-pat owner and work in international trade. I got two weeks paid after 90 days. Free insurance too. Some people that have been here a long time have worked up to five weeks paid vacation which I think is sort of nuts...
