Barack Obama wishes all moms a Happy Mother's Day!
I would not be who I am without the mothers in my life.

My own mother, Ann Dunham, was the kindest, most generous spirit I have ever known, and what is best in me, I owe to her. My grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, loved my mother and me so completely that she rejected the bigotry that might have torn other families apart, embraced my parents’ marriage, and helped raise me. Today, there is another mother in my life – the mother of my two lovely daughters – my wife Michelle, a woman who radiates beauty, strength, and integrity, and continues to make me a better person.

But our mothers deserve more than just a holiday. So on this Mother’s Day, let’s rededicate ourselves to lifting those burdens that make the difficult job of raising children that much harder. Let’s care for them when they get sick. Let’s make sure they’re getting treated fairly at work. And when their working days are over, let’s make sure they can retire with dignity and financial security. And let’s also remember those mothers who can’t be with their families today because either they or their loved ones are serving our country.

In the end, this campaign is all about doing what my mother taught me to do when I was growing up – to keep working until the world as it is and the world as it should be are one and the same.

Happy Mother’s Day.

Barack

1. What a nice thing to read. For Mothers Day I want him to be my President.
In fact, I'd trade in all my future Mothers Day cards/flowers/perfume/candy etc. for the opportunity to have Obama lead this country.

Because this mom wants a leader who will help make this country a better place for the sake of our children. I believe in my heart Obama will find a way to get this country back on track and drastically improve our relationships around the world.

4. Have a very special day with your 4-legged family members
About 3 years ago, the SPCA here in Anchorage brought in an abandoned bus jam-packed with little, dirty wooden crates with Kerry Blue Kerries in there.... They found well over 100, but only 71 were still alive.

I went over to the SPCA daily and fed and walked the 71 dogs after their little legs finally started to work again, The had loss all of their energy being cramped in that box not able to stand.. also the 71 dogs needed to have their eyes treated as they were infected and weren't able to open them; likely the heavy urine smell affected their poor eyes!

There was one Kerry Blue who would never come out of his cage. They dubbed him "Shy Guy and told me not to take that dog; that he's too sad..

But here it is, 3 years later and I have my cockapoo and my Kerry and they are as happy as like can be!! He is SO HEALTHY and HAPPY now!!!

My sweet cockapoo looks something like this.. q=tbn:Ei3kQcQCHtwvsM:

My cats pretty much take care of themselves, but I sure love my dogs! !!!
