DISGUSTING display of Republican WHINING
I have just witnessed a most DISGUSTING display of Republican WHINING.

Mitch McConnell was WHINING, on the floor of the senate, that the Democratic-controlled senate is not approving enough of Bush's judicial nominees!

This after all the years during which Republicans controlled the senate and would not approve most of Clinton's nominees so that the positions would be vacant and would be filled by the next president, whom they assumed would be a Republican.

Which is exactly what happened.

And Bush has been populating the courts of America with hard rightwing (even fascist) judges.

The senate Republicans seem to be intimidating Harry Reid into saying he will do all he can to get Senator Leahy to cooperate and move these judicial nominations along and get them approved.

I say, "No, a thousand times 'no.' The Republicans have approved too many of Bush's fascist judicial nominees already."

PLEASE call the offices of your senators to stiffen the spines of the Democratic senators and tell the Republican senators to STOP their WHINING.

Mitch McConnell says this is no time to be looking backward at what has happened before ... he says it's time to look forward.

I say to Mitch McConnell, "Hell, no. Now we are going to get some judges on the bench that we like or we don't approve them."

Why the heck should Democrats fill up judicial positions with more of Bush's extreme rightwingers ... isn't it bad enough that Bush put Alito and Roberts on the U.S. Supreme Court?

We need to keep the courtrooms of America SAFE, so that people can have fair-minded judges judging their cases.

Please call your senators today.

Stiffen the spines of the Democratic senators.

and

Tell the Republican senators to STOP their WHINING.

You can call the senators by dialing the Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and asking for a specific senator

OR

Here are the phone numbers for the senators. http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm

1. Maybe he doesn't understand the democratic process?
That's what it's for. His side did it, now it's our turn.

This is not a monarchy and B*sh doesn't get to appoint people like they're dukes or something.

3. They are totally into the double standard
Yet more proof.

There are enough authoritarians on the courts already.

And just try to use the federal courts to see that justice has been replaced with authoritarianism.

6. Remember the "nuclear option"?
When the R's wanted to change the rules because Dems filibustered 10 of Bush's most offensive apointees (Priscilla Owen, may you die painfully but soon)? In comparison, the R's filibustered over 60 of Clinton's nominees.

Of course, since they were nominated by Clinton, they were far-left judicial activists while all of Bush's apointees have been moderate strict constructionists.
