Has anyone read The New Yorker article on Obama?
Even though I am an Illinois person, I have not been leaning toward Obama. I am not sure who will get my vote in the primary.
This article, combined with other things I know and have read about Obama, make me feel more favorably toward him.
When I was growing up, I was taught that politics is the art of compromise. I think that was true until this current crop of repukes took over in 1994. They killed all compromise and fraternizing across the aisle.
Obama, with his conciliatory nature, and his seeking of common ground, may be just the person to restore that. Not that compromise with this new breed of repukes would be easy, or desirable in all cases!
I have not been happy with everything the Obama campaign has done. I am not sure that I support everything on his voting record. But there is no perfect candidate.
I would appreciate hearing from anyone else who has read the article.
