What are the poor neocons going to do now?
The cabal of Bushco, the Christian Taliban, and the neocons made an effective coalition to take control of the Country and then proceed with the neocon dream of World domination. But, alas, the shear magnitude of the incompetence of Bush and his cronies (Meirs, Gonzo, Browie, Bernie Kerik, Tenet, etc) let down the neocons and denied them their shot at World domination. The neocons refuse to admit that their plan to conquer Iraq was flawed. Did they really believe that the multiple factions in Iraq would live in peace and give us their oil? (rhetorical question)

1. Retreat to the Hoover Institution
and various other think tanks. Those Ph.D.'s can be SO handy at times like this, eh? And they can all congratulate themselves on being right, even though people couldn't see it.

Denial just ain't a river in Egypt.

2. I forget where I saw it.
But I watched an interview about whatever happened to all of the militia groups and white supremacists.

The point was made that when Clinton was in office, there were hordes of people convinced he was going to take their guns, and they were very vocally anti-government.

As soon as Bush took office, they said "I agree with most of what he stands for." They disbanded, and went into "productive" society. They became policemen, lawyers, think tank employees, etc. Some are still out there, like the Minutemen, but in general, they've been in hiding.

Some came to the forefront with confidence when Bush took over, others embraced it and hid.

I think we'll see that shift back, with a lot more noise and a lot more hate if a Democrat comes in. And all based on the same old lies that made them hate Clinton. Keeping in mind that Clinton did none of the things they were worried about with 8 years in office.

So, the neos will fade away for a bit, and start making noise in other ways.

3. They'll keep trying.
They'll keep underfunding education to keep the majority of Americans easy targets for marketing. They'll use fundamentalist churches, media conglomerates, and giant discount retailers to feed Americans steady streams of propaganda disguised as values. They'll subsidize the oil industry, the auto industry, and the agribusiness industry. But they'll loosen trade regulations so business can profit while workers earn less, thus keeping Americans dependent on cheap energy, cheap calories, and the drugs needed to fight the effects of unsustainable living.

In short, they'll try to outlast us.

4. My take on it is that they got what they wanted,

and are hoping to slink off unnoticed, and unpunished.

Sort of like the plot to the movie "Die Hard." The ideology was a smokescreen for a smash-and-grab for their multinational oil and military industrial cronies.

5. I think smash and hold is there goal. But they made inroads. They may
have to step back a little but they will be around waiting for the next dictator to hook their wagon to.

6. Eternal vigilance.
I think with the power of online networking and organization that we have now, it won't be so easy for them to do this stuff from the shadows, in the future.

7. They stole the opportunity to bring their PNAC dream to fruition --
... only to see it crash and burn with Junior at the helm.

Too bad. So Sad.

Now according to KO, the Justice Department branch that deals with elections has been stocked chock-full of partisan wingnuts.

I have a feeling the games are just beginning.

8. They aren't going anywhere. They are waiting to see
where they can hitch a ride and remain in power.
