Fox Noise "Power Player Of the Week": Richard Land
Edited on Sun May-06-07 10:14 AM by zulchzulu
Fox Noise thinks Repugs need to listen to this guy more for who should be nominated for President for the GOP. Richard Land, president of The Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC), the public policy entity of the Southern Baptist Convention, stands tall as a homophobic, warmongering, anti-alcohol, anti-abortionist, pro-Intelligent Design monster. There were some amusing moments.

His GOP assessment:
Guiliani - no way he will vote for him
McCain - unexceptionably unpredictable
Romney - Mormonism could be an issue (read IS a huge issue with Southern Baptists)
Newt - wife cheater
Brownback/Huckabee - not electable
Fred Thompson - Southern Fried Reagan

He ended his interview by being perplexed that Democrats didn't think God has a side politically, namely that God is indeed a Republican.

2. I had heard in the past that this guy speaks with Bushy
every week, usually on Monday. Is that true?
People like him scare me. If he doesn't like something he gets 16 million non-thinkers to tear it to shreds.

3. Land is now probably more influential with the RR

than Robertson or Falwell. The Fundamentalist Wing (those
who believe in a literal interpretation of the Bible). His
group refer to themselves as Christian Nationalists.

My understanding is that Tuesdays are the mornings the Ministers
speak with Bush.

Keep in mind that there is a difference between Fundamentalist
and Evangelical. The Media use the terms interchangeably which
is inaccurate.

4. No one is of pure blood in this election
They must prostate themselves before the cross and say "Our Fathers" until they are fit to rule in the eyes of The Almighty. :eyes:

5. So who's God's choice?
Since Land seems to have an insider's ear to the wishes of God, who's he supporting? Tancredo? Duncan Hunter? Tommy?

Do tell, RIchard. Inquiring minds want to know.
