With all this nonsense going on..The General should reconsider!
I find it too co-oincidental that the hammer is coming down on Kerry now that the General has pulled out. Methinks the GOP is scared of Wes because he is so clean and so strong! Now that there's no Wes, they bring the big slime machine out with guns ablazing! This is what exhausts the voters and could lead to another Bush win...God forbid!Besides what's wrong with changing your mind in the interests of your country, especially if it looks like the anointed one is under typical repug attack? That's why I did not want to narrow the field too soon and allow the pub machine to focus their attack. Looks like I was right! Wes, come back!

5. He has an army
I think he was pushed out by the stupid DLC. To me he was the most formidable in the long run, esp. over Kerry. I mean, Dean's still in and he hasn't even gotten close to the General's numbers! I don't get it!!!

Thuggishness is not admirable. We must win this election and any perceived weakness must be attacked. We will not play by their rules this time

3. Clark was on Charlie Rose tonight
That is the first time I ever saw him interviewed. He said the era of unilateralism is over and the Reagan philosophy of cutting taxes on the rich because they would invest it instead of spend it is over.

8. The hammer came down on Kerry to divert attention from AWOL
Drudge is the only one to touch it. No legitimate news source can confirm it. That's reeks of a Rove diversion. Bush is getting creamed with the AWOL story. This is a diversion tactic.

Clark is not going to reconsider.

9. the only nonsense I see
is here on DU.

It's a fucking DRUDGE rumor!!

Let's not realign the whole race just yet.

And Clark's out, to my great sorrow, but he's not coming back. It would be nuts to even consider it.

12. Its in no way nuts.
If the front runner drops out then things, obviously, have changed. There is no reason we should have to settle for a weak canidate when there is a perfectly good one sitting at home in AK.

13. As I said, if we play by their rules we lose
If clark comes back, it diverts their attention from Kerry. They will foam at the mouth that someone had the nerve to change their mind. Well hey! Bush* keeps redefining the reason we went to war. We need to keep them off balance!

His was a misguided crusade of some iconic Sheriff riding in to clean up the town. He couldn't deliver. His message was garbled, he was garbled, and when the chips were down, he resorted to bald-faced lying about his chief opponents (Kerry and Edwards voted against the tax cuts; they both had great records for standing up to the administration.) When called to account for his brazen distortions, he deflected them and fired new volleys.

He was only good as an abstract concept. He was good in stills; on video, he was sorely lacking.

No other candidate started out with anywhere near as much support, not only in the media, but financially and with fervent partisans, and he blew it because he couldn't deliver. He improved after his first stumbles, but he went on to stumble again. In the end, he went for the jugular and did it dishonestly and viciously.

He may have a political future, but he has no chance in this race.

The emperor had no uniform.
