Cash And Kerry: Will There Be Enough?
This starts out grim, but gets better.

Some deep-pocketed new donors may give him a fighting chance against Bush's massive war chest

With his big Feb. 10 wins in Virginia and Tennessee, John F. Kerry has all but clinched the Democratic nomination for President. But the end of the ground war of primaries and caucuses, where the Massachusetts Senator has scored 12 wins in 14 contests, just means the battleground is shifting -- and neither Kerry nor his campaign donors can relax. Now comes the money war against President George W. Bush, and Comeback Kerry is going to have to battle from behind once again.

snip...

What's opening Democratic checkbooks, from Boston to Beverly Hills, is a burning urge to beat George Bush. The Dems' donors may not be able to match the deep pockets of the GOP's business backers. But they're likely to dig deep enough to give Kerry at least a fighting chance in the money war.

1. So sue me...
http://www.georgewbush.com/News/Newscasts.aspx

It's the ad at the top of the list. John Kerry will be rendered completely unelectable by November, but the press may wait to empty both barrels until it's clear he's secured the nomination (because he hasn't yet). Yes, completely unelectable, even when running by as horrible a fuck-up as George Bush. Why, as Bush's ratings drop, is the Democratic party foisting on us in a rushed primary the most UNELECTABLE candidate?

And the danger of this ad, someone can punch in the phrases they use into a search engine and read the very same articles for themselves. or they can just trust the media that told them that Kerry was so damn electable...and change their mind come November.

2. he seems mightily electable
people are voting for him in droves. He beats Bush handily in the polls.

If another candidate were more electable, he'd be winning.

3. Good to hear
fund raising has because much easier. People I called in December said no, people called in February said sign me up. Winning cures a lot of ills.
