.... your feigned outrage is unconvincing. You and your asshole buddy, the appropriately named Colin, can just slither off to the swamp together.

You're pathetic.

In fact everything you can think of to say nice about yourself, he said about himself. Its what he didn't say that matters---he didn't say, and he should have, that Cheney used him and used Powell.

7. The whole stinking government is full of guys like that.
They screw up, then blame each other. But they're all fuckups -- BushCo has furthered a culture in which incompetent loyalists thrive until they finally mess up so badly that they are thrown under the bus in order to protect Der Chimpenfuehrer. Then they write a book describing how they were abused, but of course everything was fine and dandy as long as they were getting a paycheck, fame and glory for fellating the Pretzeldent. Tenet's story is nothing new, sadly.

18. No Tears for George Tenet
No one in the Bush adminstration is a man or woman of honor, period. That word is not in their dictionary. What is despicable is the devastation that this war in Iraq has caused to our country. My only child, Lt Ken Ballard and 3340+ other US soldiers have been sacrificed because Tenet and others wouldn't stand up to the President and tell the country the truth. For 3 years until Tenet signed a book contract, the truth was held close to Tenet's cold heart. How many lives could have been saved had Tenet had the courage to stand up and be the honorable man that he presents himself to be?

It was George Tenet who threw all of our military overboard when he didn't stand up before this country and tell us the truth that there was no planning. George Tenet complains about his loss of reputation, but where is his concern for the loss of life his silence caused?

39. I'm so sorry to hear about your son.
DAMN. Just DAMN. Even ONE life lost to these lies is too much.

IMPEACHMENT is the ONLY way to heal this nation and make sure that your precious boy and all the other beloved ones sacrificed for bush/cheney's greed, ego, and power-lust won't have died in vain. We push onward in the names of the used, the ripped off, the cheated, the lied to, the screwed, the betrayed, and the sacrificed.

bushco WILL rot in Hell, I'm sure, but I'd like to see at least a little punishment meted out to them here on earth in the meantime.

16. George, If you 'd come out with this before the 2004 election, I could forgive you.
In 2004 George Tenet resigned peacefully and received the Congressional Medal of Freedom. He kept his silence even though he had information that the American people needed to know in order to make an informed decision whether to re-elect George W. Bush.

He is a traitor.

17. From out of the blather, for me, came two specific points .......
First, he covered Colin's ass, saying his 'estimate' was honest and well intended, but wrong, and it is the data Colin used to go to the UN. My own contemporaneous recollection is a little different, but if these two weasels wanna cover for each other, have at it. betyween the two of them, the sum total of their integrity quotient is lower than whale shit.

Second, he's using the classic Gonzo excuse for the 16 words in the SOTU speech. He claims he gave the speech to an assistant to review, with directions to 'let me know if there's anything I need to mention to anyone'. In other words, just like Gonzo, good help is hard to find.

Kiss my ass.

20. What I found telling was his claim that Iraq was not "scheduled" to have WMD
until 2007, 2009. He knew he had a made a mistake as soon as he uttered those words. From a political/RNC perspective that's a very interesting reason to take him out b/f the 2006 and 2008 elections.

34. Yeah, sure. NOW he calls Colin's UN testimony an estimate.
But he sat right behind Powell while he presented this pantload of crap to the UN. He was a first-hand witness when Powell assured the UN that none of the information was based on a guess or an "estimate" and that, instead, it was all proven FACTUAL information.

What a couple of criminal bastages.

33. A note from Chalmers Johnson
Edited on Sun Apr-29-07 07:45 PM by Donna Zen
In his well documented book, Chalmers Johnson's documents that he was onto Tenet long before this week. I offer up this little snip:

Nemesis Chalmers Johnson (98)

After the 9/11 attacks and the Bush administration’s decision to go to war with Iraq, the focus shifted from ignoring unwanted intelligence to actively creating false intelligence that would support is regime-change war of choice. The critical item in the administration’s rush to war was the NIE of October 1, 2002, entitled “Iraq’s Continuing Program for Weapons of Mass Destruction,” which became known inside the agency as the “whore of Babylon.” It explicitly endorsed Vice President Cheney’s contention of August 26, 2002---”We know that Saddam has resumed his efforts to acquire nuclear weapons”---and was signed by DCI George Tenet with “high confidence.” “The intelligence process,” wrote CIA veteran analyst Ray McGovern, “was not the only thing undermined. So was the Constitution.”

Tenet's history has always puzzled me. He came up with Sen. John Hienz, and in those early days Tenet's emphasis was the environment. Later he would work for Democrats. Then this...joining the asses of evil. Bad choices have consequences.

The whore of Babylon indeed.

The CIA works for the president. The committees were created by the Church Commission to try and reign them in. It hasn't worked. There is no accountability....hell, they are not even audited and it's our money.

I honest to god have no idea how we're going to get a handle on this mess. I just know that if we don't, we will be destroyed from within.

What a pile of self-serving claptrap! Let's be clear on something. Thousands of Americans, civilians and soldiers, are dead today because George Tenet is jaw-droppingly incompetent. He not only wouldn't share information with the FBI, he wasn't able to get the POTUS to listen to the obvious warnings.

While an ignorant POS. History won't judge him kindly.
