Elections this Nov 07 are more important than Nov 08.
This Nov we will elect school boards, city officials, county legislatures, and in some areas state reps. We need to gain hold of the RW base. This is where the GOP excels, they pay attention to local political centers and then control the money flow that comes into these towns and cities.

We need to wake up and take part in our own backyard. We need to run on pothole issues locally in order to send DEM up the political food chain. Repeat pothole issues locally not national issues. Example, If you run for dog catcher you tell how you will solve the dog problem not if you want to impeach Cheney or *. That's above a dogcatchers pay grade.

1. Smart medium/long term thinking, if I may say so.

3. It is too easy to be complacent where I live -
A tiny blue town in a red, red state. We just turned the County Commissioners ALL BLUE in 2006 and shifted the City Council to 7D-2R. We dumped the nasty old terrible, horrible, sexist, corporatist prosecutor. The Democratic Women's Caucus has two progressive women ready to step into City Council seats this year...

I've had yard signs up for weeks now for the primary.

I appreciate your post!

:hi:

4. The local Candidates will not call themselves (R)s
Offering tax relief and with subtle racism is how the Rs got in power last time. Infiltrate at the local and state level and work their stealthy dark magic then move up wards. You remind us we can do our own prescient groundwork locally.
