2. 'Had an opportunity to meet Leland Yee and value it. Not surprising to
see Yee endorsing Edwards' candidacy, but delightful just the same.

Go, Johnny go.

16. Hi, Catchawave. I think it would be hard to top RFK, but we do have a
line-up of Dems who are coming close.

I thought John Edwards' early appearances in New Hampshire, for example, were absolutely terrific. And he hasn't been bad since then either!

Obama has the chops.

On Yee -- I really think this guy is a class act. You really have to be on your toes in California in politics, and this guy is.

Politics is often sweat and elbow-jabs and white-knuckles, but sometimes it's poetry and passio, too.

21. I was @ the Convention - Edwards reception was

huge. It was bigger than HRC and more complete than Obama's. Even though HRC was not as robotic and Obama seems to have found a rhythm, Edwards blew out the walls. Bill Richardson surprised many and was warmly received. Edwards & Richardson had the most comprehensive 'out of iraq' plans and this convention was 'OUT OF IRAQ' and 'IMPEACH' from start to finish.

7. Thanks and recommended.
I think that the post after post just going after him here are turning a lot of people's mind ....and quite frankly turning stomachs.

So many of us are lacking enthusiasm for 08 right now anyway. We remember 03 and 04 and how easy it is take down someone who threatens the powers that be.

We keep waiting for the next shoe to drop.

17. So true.
I'm finding it hard to listen to the debates and speeches. I can't invest my hopes and dreams in a primary candidate this time.

12. You don't trust that he'll enact progressive legislation and policies
Edited on Sun Apr-29-07 05:21 PM by jcrew2001
Do you think he'll just ignore the Democratic platform when he is elected president? Do you disagree with him on the issues? I think he's sincere about his stated goals and policy positions. He's served 6 years in Washington and will be able to win over Congress. He can win over Rural America, and he can re-establish our foreign policy.

I like Obama, but I don't think he's ready for the top job, and if he gets it, I think he'll stumble greatly.

10. Here are some of the other things Edwards has said
I don't have a link because I got this from a friend's e-mail:

Edwards calls for immediate start to troop withdrawal

By James P. Sweeney COPLEY NEWS SERVICE

12:03 p.m. April 29, 2007

SAN DIEGO – Former Sen. John Edwards said Sunday that the United States should start withdrawing from Iraq immediately and urged Congress not to retreat from a war funding bill that would force President Bush to beging bringing troops home later this year.

<snip>

If Bush vetoes the war funding bill, Edwards said Sunday, Congress should stand firm and keep sending him war appropriations bills that include timetables for withdrawal. Clinton and Obama both said Congress should attempt to override a veto.

Congress “should not back down from this president,” Edwards shouted to cheers. “This is about life and death. This is about war and we have to be strong.”

Ending the war as soon as possible, he said, will help the country restore its tattered image abroad.

13. Too bad Edwards did not have the honesty to
dump the insurance cash and endorse the National Health care plan the CAlif. Democratic legislature supported and sent to Arni's desk - only to have Gov. Arni veto it. All for Anri's lousy Massachusetts plan which will be a pork barrel for the insurance companies.

18. The OP is rather misleading.
Should be "some California Democratic leaders endorse Edwards." And calling councilmen and councilwomen "leaders" is rather a stretch, but O.K.

I wonder how many have endorsed the other candidates. The post makes it sound as if the leadership is endorsing Edwards, which it hasn't.
