Eliot Spitzer: "What an amazing president (Hillary) will be"
New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer, who has yet to endorse a presidential candidate, touted home state Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton for the job Friday.

Both Democrats spoke to a convention of New York State teachers at a Washington hotel, and when Spitzer followed Clinton to the podium, he gushed that she would be the next president.

"What an amazing president she will be for every person in this country," said Spitzer, who for months has avoided making an early endorsement in the Democrats' nomination contest, calling such a move premature.

1. What a shame for Spitzer, et. al., that the political elites and journalists can't directly
Coronate HRC? :eyes:

4. That's cool, but these elites are living in a bubble. Guess they'll have to learn the hard way?
IMO, come primary day, HRC is going to lose and lose big. I term it "The Peoples' Backlash" over the political elites TELLING US who to vote for.

10. But the political UNelites are TELLING US the same thing..
I was hoping you would be available to help me pick out Hillary's Crown..

You know, all the "little" decisions. Yellow gold, white gold, diamonds, emeralds or rubies..

Her flowing red cape trimmed in the traditional Ermine or should we stick with Russian Sable...nah, that wouldn't be PC!

above my class and socio-economic status. :eyes:

Forgive me for not being impressed by HRC's other millionaire political elites telling us little people how grand HRC will be as President. Makes me think that she has promised to immediately repeal the Estate Tax (for the children - Chelsea) and make tax cuts for the uber-wealthy permanent.

Sorry, but call me suspicious of those who are SEVERAL tiers above the average working-slob American with regard to both political power and wealth.

8. As even DU yawns
The coronation will be complete before most of the country knows that a crown has even been ordered.

I should really keep a list of the yawners to beat them about the head when Hillary does nothing for the poor or working poor after she's elected and even more people stop voting after that.

You can ONLY hurt your popularity by backing this DLC shill.

You have gone way down in my regard by this comment alone.

You have your own White House potential...Don't blow it by backing this lady....she's toxic. A pro-war AIPAC stooge. Repukes are motivated by her and most Dems don't even like her...

17. Dennis Kucinich will not be President but his character is as honorable, if not more so,
than any candidate running on either side of the aisle for US President today. :applause:

Further, when it comes to moral courage, Kucinich is aces in my book. If only he were "as likable" as Bill Clinton AND "as physically attractive - tall/photogenic" as was JFK. <yearning sigh>

39. Why won't he?
Edited on Sat Apr-28-07 02:29 AM by RapidCreek
Because folks like yourself say he won't be...that's why. I'll tell you what chief, the man or woman who should be elected isn't applying for an escort job. It is disrespectful to the office of president to make noise like he or she is. You should leave that sort of shit to the guy who started this post. He does such a magnificent job.

Likable? What is more likable than supplying every man woman and child in this country with health care....run of the mill to catastrophic....Under a workable, decent plan...not the stupid shit that Clinton tried to pass. What is more likable than leaving the mercenary war to the mercenaries and bringing my brothers home. What is more likable than supplying my fellow disabled veterans with the care they were promised? The list goes on but you get the picture.

I mean for Christ sakes, Hillary Clinton is a middle aged fat broad with a shitty hair don't. Obama is a liver lipped string bean....and I could go on and on and on. The fact of the matter is though, that IT JUST DOESN'T MATTER. The best presidents this country has ever had have NOT been physically attractive...one was downright fugly...that was Abraham Lincoln. And no, I don't think that Kennedy was a particularly good president.

Name one quality which makes Dennis Kucinich unlikable or "unlikable" as you like to say. He ain't fuckable? I mean we really gotta quit saying shit like "If only he were "as likable" as Bill Clinton AND "as physically attractive - tall/photogenic" as was JFK. <yearning sigh>". If we want a real president and not a Goldwater girl folks better stop speaking as defeatists and not buy into the shit spewing from the talking heads in/on the very CONSERVATIVE media. The conservative ass wipes who run this country would like nothing more than an H. Clinton Presidency. She's been marketed by them for the past 8 years, as the queen of the liberals which, of course, she's not. Unfortunately folks have been convinced to talk about stupid shit like "likability" and not the fact that Mrs. Clinton is more of the same, the same shit that got this country into the friggin mess it's in.

Peace and Inner Harmony,

RC

I wish he would be AG under Wesley Clark instead of Hillary Clinton. But hell, you take 'em to the mat with the royalty you have, not the leadership you want.

19. Eliot Spitzer's opinion is just that .... HIS opinion.

Wyldwolf - I had to leave for almost 2 weeks, so you have to remind me... Hillary isn't even your first pick, right?

I could've sworn she was your 2nd or 3rd..?

Either that or maybe I've been gone too long.

37. He is a progressive and he is also a politician
It is amusing the HRC camp, which once viewed victory as "inevitable", has become so desperate to stem the Obama surge that they have to make a big deal out of a rookie governor endorsing a powerful senator from his state who is running for president. Realistically (don't DLC'er portray themselves as the ultimate pragmatists?), he had no choice but to endorse her.

HRC supported Spitzer when he ran for governor and when he ran for attorney general. It is not surprising that he returned the favor.

Speaking of Spitzer, has HRC's polling on his gay marriage bill been completed yet? Is she going to show leadership for once and take a position on a controversial issue in her state? Or will she courageously "leave it for others to decide" again?

35. Wolf, I am with you. This is a specious argument in that just because
a fellow democratic New Yorker decides to speak out for Hillary the word goes out that this is all the selection of the rich. Rich and poor and all the in-between support each of our fine candidates. Give her a chance. Do not degrade Hillary every time she does something well. Just so you know, although I am leaning a little toward Clinton, I am not decided. Gore is my man. I am for whichever dem runs against whatever pug. The GOPer presidencies of the last 30+ years have been filled with death and destruction and debt and prevarications. I am sick of that type of rule.
