PREDICTION: Kucinich will "Win" tonights debate
Dennis will call out Obama and Clinton on their continued support for the war by continuing to approve funding. He will make the best case for universal health care..

Sen. Joe Biden will expectantly impress the mostly african-american audience

Edwards wont hit hard enough

Sen. Chris Dodd will not impress

Bill Richardson will not connect

Mike Gravel, Mike who?

1. I think Richardson may steal the show.
I think the big 3 will largely refraim from attacking each other.

Biden will play it as if he is above it all, the elder statesman.

5. I was thinking more the TV audience that the live audience per se
This is a shot for Richardson to climb into the top tier and get media mentions along with the big 3.

17. Why could he not - and the others could?
Just curious. Is there something I'm missing about Richardson?

3. Did you see Russell Simmons on Donny Deutsch last evening ? -
He said he backed Dennis Kucinich for President because he is truthful. I looked for a transcript to get his exact words but none seems available.

4. I'm thinking Richardson will do the best
He was awesome at the DNC meeting in February. He has a great organization in South Carolina. He's made points calling for a non-negative primary. I think he will do very well and gain a lot of supporters.

7. He and Sharpton were often the most quotable participants in the 2003-4 debates
not that it translated into votes, of course.

9. Not a chance. I predict Obama doing the best.
Richardson will impress many who didn't know he existed.

Edwards will do just fine.

Chris Dodd, Mike Gravel or Dennis won't connect.

Joe Biden, who cares?

Hillary Clinton will do averagely.

12. I believe the top three will dominate.
But Kucinich will prove to be the sticky wicket of the bunch.

I'm torn on whether that's a good or a bad thing.

13. I'm not sure if Hillary will connect as well as the other two main candidates.
But I wouldn't count her out. She knows the importance of tonight!!

I may be biased, but I don't see Kucinich doing as well as people suspect. Not saying he'll fall flat on his face, but I don't see him gaining much momentum tonight. Richardson would be one to watch. And who knows, Biden even? Not that I like that.

Richardson could make a big splash tonight ~ in his understated but experienced and charming way.

16. She has the advantage of being underestimated in terms of having a personality
it's only an advantage, of course, if she manages to show her personality.

18. I agree- but I might also agree with other posters here about Richardson...
...he's actually not that bad for a "DLC type" (the DU definition-bare with me!), so he has low expectations working for him...

I think DK's challenges to other DEMS can only be a good thing. If he is as "crazy" and "out of touch" as they say, then now is the time for the other candidates to distance themsleves from his ideas. If he's not really all that nuts, but just "too right, too soon", then now the others can establish their safer points of agreement with him...

19. the format really bites though
too regimented - too time-constrained

I'd love to see a balls-out free-for-all, preferably in mud. :)

If Hillary wants to play with the boys, she's got to get down in the mud with them,
preferably with a fabulous mud do:

20. WTF is up with some of his supporters?
I went to his website and on his forum, some supporters are posting RNC e-mails and other right wing crap about Edwards and Obama.

http://kucinich.us/node/4216

http://kucinich.us/node/3920 (this is particularly disgusting since I am pretty sure the poster is white kid from Orange COunty)

Apparently the same small group of crazies has pissed off people at Democrats.com and Kos and seems to be the same cast of characters that got TSed from here during the last election.

22. My predictions...
1) Richardson comes out the winner, appearing folksy, fun, and full of experience.

2) Clinton looks a bit too canned and overly prepackaged, causing a slip.

3) This makes the real winner Obama, since Clinton slips and Richardson doesn't gain enough to be a threat.

4) With no opening or closing statements and only 60 seconds to respond, verbose senators Biden and Dodd are going to talk over everyone else without actually saying a whole lot. They'll look like bullies without a whole lot of ideas. They're screwed, if they weren't already.

5) Edwards stays about the same, as does Gravel.

6) Kucinich is a wild card. Debates could help or hurt him, depending on how he presents his ideas.

I hope Dennis actually gets so boost in the polls after tonight but I hope a lot of things.

time to speak than the other candidates. Same applies to Gravel.

26. Dennis Kucinich DESERVES to win, because he's the best of the lot of them.
But he hasn't traditionally come across in debates as the truly tough TRUTH TELLER that he is. He's an exceptional man, but this country has failed to come up to exceptional standards under the intentional republican dumbing-down of our country, and 24/7/365 propaganda for corporations.

If Kucinich did win the debate, the republican-owned media would crucify him, just like republicans have done for 2000 years with "liberals".

I know it shows....I'm so sick of the rightwing today I'm ready to go as far to the left as I can before I fall off the flat side of the universe.

Besides, my guy isn't in the debates tonite. I still think Wesley Clark is the one man in this country that could turn this mess around.
