Clinton Agrees to April Debate
Clinton Agrees to April Debate

NEW YORK (AP) - Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's campaign announced Friday she would participate in a presidential debate later this month sponsored by the South Carolina Democratic Party.

All the announced Democratic contenders have now agreed to appear in the debate, which will take place at South Carolina State University in Orangeburg April 26.

While the candidates have all appeared at several issue forums during the campaign, the debate will be the first time they engage with one another directly in front of an audience.

"I'm excited to be part of this debate so that I can share my views with South Carolinians on how to move this country in the right direction," Clinton said in a statement.

Other candidates participating are Sens. Barack Obama, Chris Dodd and Joe Biden; former Sen. John Edwards; New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson; Ohio Rep. Dennis Kucinich; and former Alaska Sen. Mike Gravel.

4. You're very welcome..
I was a bit surprised the debates were starting so soon.

The good thing is everyone will attend and they are all in agreement..

5. Now if Wes Clark were in the debate...I'd really be excited!
But I'm still looking forward to seeing all those great candidates questioning each other. If Clark and Gore don't run...I'm totally
undecided and the debates will be a big help. This is the first time
I've ever been undecided.

14. The article indicated she was the last of the major candidates to accept the invitation.

I also read somewhere she was the last to sign up in another article.

Why are you so touchy about Hillary being the last to accept the invitation for the debate. You can make sure that she did it for a reason, although you will have to ask the campaign their reasons for doing so.

By the way, Happy Easter!

7. Happy Easter!!!
I hope the debates are not run by the sphincter police with regimented 30-second rebuttals, and I hope they are full-contact debates, maybe with wrestling.
