Democratic National Committee Shuts Fox Out Of Debate
By Greg Sargent | bio

So it looks as if the proposed Fox News/Congressional Black Caucus Democratic primary debate will not be one of the six debates "sanctioned" by the Democratic National Committee.

DNC spokesperson Karen Finney gives the following statement to Ben Smith:

“The DNC sanctioned debates will not include Fox," says DNC Communications Director Karen Finney in an email.

Smith comments: "The refusal of the party to consider sanctioning the Detroit debate, however, is a mark of an increasingly unified Democratic effort to marginalize the network." No word yet from Fox on this.

I don't know what the CBC is thinking- or if they're thinking. Makes me wonder whether some $$$ was involved.

6. It should be party policy to ignore Fox News
NEVER agree to an interview or appearance on their network and NEVER answer a FAUX news reporter's question.

When asked, simply say that you see no need to respond to the RNC twice on each issue, and that NO partisan press will be enabled by this Democratic Congress nor the upcoming Dem Administration.

Fox could fade away if ignored for eight years.

9. I believe I detect the subtle hand....
....of Give 'em Hell Howard, here.

He knows full well what media distortion can do to someone in
public life. He suffered it first hand.

As DNC chairman he can not only say "I've had enough," and not worry
about detriment to is campaign--he isn't running for anything--but he
also has the freedom to tell a blatantly partisan media network what
he (and we) think and know about them. Better yet, he can do something
about it--like this.

Good on ya, laddie!

We may hope that all Democratic candidates and officials at all levels will act in accordance with this posture of the National Committee.

13. Even if they do,
If they mess up, as Democrats, it's our right and duty to say so.
This does NOT mean bash them, work against their re-election, or
any such measures. But speak our mnds when we have a strong opinion
on the subject? Absolutely.
