Greg Hodur, Fargo Letter: Forum is not asking the tough questions The Forum Published Tuesday, April 03, 2007 I know U.S. Attorney Drew Wrigley is the rising star in Republican circles thanks to his ability to convict Alfonso Rodriguez Jr., and have him sentenced to death. But does anything that’s happening in Washington regarding the conduct of Attorney General Alberto Gonzales incite any intellectual curiosity on the part of someone at The Forum about the decision to seek the death penalty for Rodriguez?
I know you are preoccupied with real issues, like who’s wearing what dress to which prom, which slime bag actually impregnated Anna Nicole Smith, and who’s the next idiot to be kicked off “American Idol.” However, shouldn’t someone ask Wrigley about possible political pressure applied on him to seek the death penalty for Rodriguez despite the long history of opposition to capital punishment in this state?
For that matter, shouldn’t somebody ask Wrigley why he never investigated the incident at the Fargodome a couple of years ago when President Bush showed up, and for some still-unexplained reason, citizens who had every right to be at that taxpayer-funded event were unceremoniously removed? Seems to me that apparent violation of civil rights would be a proper inquiry for our U.S. attorney.
Perhaps we know all we need to know about Wrigley in that he wasn’t removed from his post for being insufficiently partisan as eight of his colleagues were by the Bush White House. But, who knows? If the only newspaper in the region won’t ask tough questions, who will?

Recently a friend was ragging on me because I don't watch TV, not even tv news. So therefore I don't keep track of important stuff like breakins, ball game scores, bar fights, prostitution busts, etc. so I would have something to talk about at work. Ya, sure, ya betcha!
What do I pay attention to? Like the above is alluding to. Petty unimportant stuff like bu$h's Murder for hire outfit, Blackwater. The blooming tourism industry in exotic Irak being advertised by the apparently LSD enhanced bu$h supporters. Bees disappearing, Pets dieing and nobody can agree on what in the the wheat glutton is doing it and why for so long and how did they get away with using the same feed glutton in human foods without anyone noticing? I guess I'll just remain ignorant in my little cocoon.
