Tweety just said Fred Thompson strikes him as the "ultimate daddy" from the "daddy party"--a term
Matthews said he coined in an article he wrote years ago.

What a piece of work Tweety is!

1. Tweety has a thing for male authority figures
Even actors who display such traits on film. It must be related to his Jesuit schooling, there's really no other explanation.

2. Sounds like Matthews has a new man-crush
Apparently, Rudy and McCain couldn't satisfy him.

3. and I suppose Dems are the "mommy party"
How original. :eyes:

Dads and moms can both fill a variety of roles in the home. As a soon-to-be-dad, I'm annoyed by the implication that there is something dad-like about the way Republicans do business.

7. This man will not be President, ever.
When "values" voters get a look at this pairing... forget about it.

5. Assuming that Matthews is right about Thompson . . .
Projecting a comforting "daddiness" -- as unlikely as it is that Matthews would be right about *anything* -- has he considered that the American people don't want a new relative? We've just been through 7 years of our irresponsible older brother running things, and that hasn't exactly worked out well.

How about a public servant, a professional, a leader in the the president's office?

9. I don't understand this infatuation with Fred Thompson
A fine actor, but he was an empty suit in the Senate. Without his cue cards, Thompson is a very boring speaker.
